ipad 2 is truly the workhorse of the ipad lineup

It was kinda obvious that they were gonna introduce some sort of multitasking.

There were references buried in OS 8 (and maybe even 7?) and it's not like they made the iPad 2 twice as powerful as the previous one so you could run Monument Valley faster.

Also means the 12" iPad pro or whatever is a go for the fall probably.

I was going to say this. Steve Jobs himself said that apps were pretty much worthless and made people use HTML5 until they finally relented and allowed 3rd party apps.

They've sold 800 million iOS devices as of last year (and the iPhone 6/+ sold millions), so it might be legitimate.

Considering the industrial revolution was ~40 years long... you can at least argue it transformed things more quickly.

I mean, I guess, but the number of all apps downloaded? You're probably going to want more specific numbers, like how many apps like the one you want to develop have been downloaded.

I thought it was only for the thing where people sign up for subscription based services through the app? Like if you downloaded Netflix and made a Netflix account using your iPhone then Apple would get $2.50 every month for your Netflix account, which was always kind of hosed up I thought. I even believe they tried to make it illegal for apps to link to an outside registration source so they wouldn't have to get taxed.
