The 920 seems like a no-brainer over the 820 or 8X for a ~$150 windows phone. Agree? Disagree?

I prefered it over the 920 (even though I believe it had a lesser resolution screen). I really liked the form factor of the HTC 8x and I wish it was updated with better specs, etc, but that's unlikely.

If rumors are true, Microsoft will be releasing new flagship phones later this year. (Rumors might not be true.). The 920 was originally a flagship, so if that is something important to you, you may wish to wait.

I think that at this point even Microsoft said that they will release flagship phones but just after the summer and with Win10 out of the box.

No, I just want a good phone in the $150 range or less. I only brought it up because I've heard complaints about the 920 battery life and some reviews say the differences on paper (920 v 820) don't translate to actual use. And the 8X can be found fairly cheap now, especially used. edit2; nm, I bought a 925. wormil fucked around with this message at 20:04 on Jun 14, 2015 |

FYI, I'll be turning off the Rooms service tomorrow morning (probably some time around 10am?). If you want to do anything rooms related please do it before then.

I ended up buying a 925 off ebay, a former t-mobile store demo. It'll probably be beat up but has a 30 day hassle free return so I can send it back if need be and it was insanely cheap.

My 925 is a former store demo. Came in good shape with a battery that holds a full charge, and it is amazingly durable. I have no complaints at all.

If you want upcoming build 10136, you have to roll back to 8.1 and wait for tomorrow. Otherwise you have to wait longer for apparently 10145. Some bug upgrading from 10080.

The estimate for fixing the upgrade bug is sometime next week. So, if you feel like toughing it out on 10080 for another week, you can possibly get it then.

So what is the current consensus on the 640 on TMob with LTE and dual SIM? I probably sound like a broken record on this but it's time to stop the vacillating and order one. Places to buy?

Walmart has a spot on the rack for the T-Mobile 640, they are cards you take to the checkout stand. I assume that means they're in stock. Honestly for the price the 640's look like great phones. I'm just waiting for something faster. If they were a faster processor (even a snapdragon 410) and had wireless charging I'd get one immediately.

I got a Qi-to-microUSB adapter and sandwiched the adapter between my 640XL phone and a case. This is the adapter and case I got and it works well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HI8JYFE https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UT2AUDG Not super fast but it is convenient. Just a heads up is that some charging cradles may be finicky and not work consistently because the shape of the cradle makes it impossible to align the charging transmitter on the cradle with the receiver on the phone. In my case with the Nokia desk and car cradles, I had to move the receiver towards the bottom of the phone which left a lot of slack in the ribbon that connects to the micro USB port. I know it's probably a bad idea but I doubled the ribbon over and had it sandwiched between the cover and phone but left enough slack so that I could easily disconnect the adapter if I wanted to use a wall charger or connect the phone to a computer. I'm hoping that it the ribbon won't get too damaged if I refrain from taking the case on and off. Hopefully, by the time it does break, either an official Qi cover will be available or the new flagship phones with Qi will be available.

Yeah I have one of those for my loaner 635, and it being finicky is why I just said screw it and left it off.

You guys with 925s, do you recommend an aftermarket case? I'm not clumsy but some of the Lumias are slippery and hard to hold.

I've never seen a 925 case that I wanted anywhere near my phone. All 4 corners have nice dings in them because of it. It seems like the 925 never got much support from case manufacturers, which is too bad. It's been a great phone.

It's got some corner dings, but still looks great. Biggest damage was a tiny crack in the bottom left corner of the glass below the back button, and I had to drop it onto a concrete floor to make that happen.

Dunno but I finally ordered a 640, looking forward to some dual SIM LTE goodness (both SIMS are T-Mob) for personal and work use. On this subject, does anyone have experience with WPhone and dual SIM? A call is coming in - do I know to use my professional voice or sexy voice by just looking at a prompt on the screen? Or do I answer with "Hello ACME Inc." to everyone?

Also interested. The known bugs list is pretty short and nothing too bad, but the last preview was just so unusable that I'm cautious.

Ugh, I can cook scrambled eggs on my 930 after the update to 10136. --edit: Meh, seems like none of the apps are preinstalled, every first start seems to head to the Store. Hope that changes on final release. --edit2: The Store is still a mess with mismatched focus and hit surfaces, and semi-functional controls. --edit3: Bunch of borders in various apps and the start screen are twice as thick and makes everything look funny.
