I enjoyed last year's FTL LP. It's right here in the forum archives. I think it was generally relaxed but I don't remember the mood that well. I think it changed between runs. If you don't have archives, first half of the LP was done by Momplestiltskin and you can find his runs here. After that, ProfessorBooty took over, his playlist starts here.

edit: Oops, my question was answered 2 pages back re: Witcher. So instead, are there any LPs of the Hitman games where every mission is pulled off flawlessly and any where they go hilariously wrong?

It's also a decent game I'd love to LP as soon as I gather enough patience to do screenshots.SelenicMartian posted:That one was a Polish Resident Evil SRPG. Also, the plot was rewritten for the Russian release so that the team of an American, a Pole and a Frenchman turned into a Russian, a Ukrainian and an Estonian.

There were other plot rewrites in the manual like Russia uniting Europe with the power of socialism, Poland and Russia exchanging territories, and two Polish teams and a NATO squad going missing in that town. I really enjoyed Azzur's Warcraft and Xenocides' Gold Box LP threads. A pity the games were never finished. Any good finished LPs of these games? Or similarly good unfinished LPs that keep you entertained throughout and wanting more?

i like the one where he says Dark Souls 2 is the game with the best adaptive difficulty ever because you can make the game easier by exploiting the enemies' terrible pathfinding AI edit: or the one where he says playing as a black man in Rust cured his friend of racism CharlestonJew fucked around with this message at 22:53 on Jun 12, 2015 |

ChorpSaway and FutureFriends' 50 Cent thread is one of the funniest on the subforum at the moment. FutureFriend is playing Bulletproof with a rotating selection of guest co-commentators, while Chorps is going through the equally ridiculous Blood on the Sand. It's a very different approach from Chip Cheezum's LP, so don't worry about that. Also, there's a ton of thread participation stuff in the form of contests. Create a rap and win a 50 Cent plushie! Write a premise for the next game and win a 50 Cent book! It's a great thread that really does justice to one of the great musicians of our time, Curtis "Fiddy" Jackson.

Nihilarian posted:why, exactly? I stopped watching their videos when they talked about the radio spectrum "running out" and apparently didn't even read the Wikipedia article about what a radio is and how it works. And somehow the radio spectrum "running out" would cause all your phones to stop working and your games to lock up if they tried to enter multiplayer. Then there was the one about the AI Singularity and said how it would totes happen in our lifetimes, guise!!! Watch out for our new robot overlords!

I dunno, I picked two out and liked listening. Are we talking like, enormous, broad, constant inaccuracies? Because I'm down to listen to a guy talk about games if he's wrong about radio frequencies and transhumanism, I just toss those opinions over my shoulder. I guess if half of what he says is made-up poison, that'd be bad, but is the problem that he's wrong a lot, or is the problem that he annoys you? Because those are different non-recommendations.

People need to be watching the Skate 3 LP. The whole thing is like an episode of Jackass but with extra glitch-induced, self-inflicted pain. The only thing it's missing is that jangly guitar riff.

The only distortions they usually make are what flags they use and the details of whether there was a candle on a table or not. Even their "most distorted" series on WW1 only had a few distortions, with most of them being backed by a source. While the "lies" episodes tend to be long, it isn't because there is a lot of false information, it is because they also talk about other bits of triva, and that James is rather pedantic. Even if the distortions ever were large (which they aren't), the fact that they have a "Lies" epsiode where they talk about it negates any negative effect of these A typical lie video looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0C6pjINyK5Y Bacter posted:I dunno, I picked two out and liked listening. No, they tend not to have a lot of giant inaccuracies, most of those come when James goes out of his depth, as he is a game designer, not an expert on the future of technology and radios frequencies. Most of the dislike tends to come from James having controversial opinions. A couple of examples: He is anti GamerGate, which angers the Gators. He believes that Rust not allowing you to choose anything about your character was interesting as it caused some white people to actually experience racism when playing as a black character. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh1zfdUTqBY He believes that Darksoul's pathing bugs made the game better, and how having magic being overpowered in Darksouls was a good thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM2dDF4B9a4 MegaZeroX fucked around with this message at 01:22 on Jun 14, 2015 |

I bet he felt confused when Golden came out and absolutely hammered the fact that he's not gay.

So if anyone is looking for a lot of good roguelike (or lite) content then I'd highly recommend the Roguelike megathread going on: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3720568 Agent355 is doing a pretty fun run of Necrodancer, a couple of guys are doing some insightful runs of DoomRL, anilEhilated just started showing off Ziggurat, and just a lot of other great stuff in there. Especially with the Steam sale going on, if you're not sure of stuff to buy then these LP's might just sell you on some of these games.
