This dude owns. Even Shalua and DARKNESS guy (the two most extreme examples that leap to mind) have okay elements when you take them in isolation - the labcoat, the bodysuit, whatever. There isn't anything about Nooj that's remotely acceptable.

Not sure if it's just me but seeing that design for the first time, it makes me think that's what Kefka would look like if he didn't have his clown aesthetic going on.

Cid was the best because he knew poo poo was wack all along and kept up the "nope I'm just your principal, I never ran the orphanage you all grew up in and I'm not married to the evil sorceress running the world no sirree" act until near the end of the game.

FFXII did a great job with all the old themes. It has by far the best version of the FF Main Theme.

Their camaraderie, fostered since childhood, is what allowed them to survive time compression. Their success overall is contrasted with all the missed connections or grander scheme meddling in personal lives like Laguna and Julia, Laguna and his bros, or Cid and Edea. Its not stunning writing but as a Final Fantasy it was never going to be.

You might want to make sure one person has access to white or green magic but I didn't really have to much of an issue going with whatever I felt like.

Red mage is awesome, but I probably wouldn't have that be your only class with access to magic on your team of 6. I'd say having two characters with access to white magic and two with access to offensive magic is usually enough (even if it's just Drain from Time Mage or something). But a bunch of characters get "Shades of Black" in a pinch.

Yep. The game was conceived by Sakaguchi and Kitase was one of the directors. Plus I'm sure a bunch more of the staff was shared.

Something to keep in mind is that any class that uses a two handed weapon not only gets evasion bonuses depending on the weapon, but two handers can hit any flying enemy with basic attacks. This is why a class like Monk is great because on top of that nice perk you get native access to high level white magic later in the game and some really nice buffs if you build your license board just so. The big two ranged classes (machinist and archer) don't get much in comparison, and have really dumb negative modifiers to their weapons in poor weather conditions. Time mages are better just by virtue of getting heavy armor access and full green magic but lack versatility and have the same penalties to their weapons.

Not all two-handed weapons; greatswords, staffs, and I think rods can't hit fliers. Just poles and spears, I believe. Also, everybody gets evasion bonuses from their weapons; some weapons just give more or less than others.

Every job contributes pretty well. Machinists and archers get more item lores than most other classes, for example. Time magic, which is really only available through Time Mage and Machinist if you give them the right espers, is really powerful and is enough of a perk on its own. Time mages also can equip heavy armor (which boosts strength), improving their damage output with crossbows.

Really, don't discount any job. They've been balanced pretty well.

Well Venat is foreshadowed quite a lot. It's just that the focus of the game never shifts from the Empire to her/it. Your goal, from start to finish, is to fight the Empire. The only thing that changes is that the party switches their plan from "destroying it completely" to "fighting the rear end in a top hat in charge of it."

But I dunno, Vayne was always the target and maybe Dr. Cid. The party never tried to hurt Venat at all. Probably because you kinda can't.
