I've seen this thing around, I can only assume he's got an interesting sense of humor and/or lost a bet. I'd guess he owns a Hyundai dealership but there is no Hyundai of Bel Air. Stone Canyon is one of the streets that goes up into Bel Air and that corner is mansions on one side and UCLA on the other.

Son, if you have to steer then you aren't going where you want to. I recommend always going where you want to go, then you'll never have to change your course.

Steering wheels are for cowards.

All four front wheels are steer wheels. The "middle" set of wheels just don't turn as much as the front, keeping the radius of their turning circle in ratio to the distance between them.

I bought a $600 craigslist special 1980 tercel that came with a wink mirror and it owned bones. I'd put one in my supra but don't want to poo poo up the perfect interior.

Wink mirrors were huge in the 80's, every car guy had one. The problem with them is they hinder traffic light visibility, it's like driving with your visor down all the time. If you mount it high enough to not block forward visibility, you can't really see out of the car. On the plus side if you mount it low the rear visibility is freakin awesome. I had one in my first car, with the top off it made driving downtown a breeze. I never accidentally cut anyone off ever, and I didn't have to turn my head for lane changes. I actually have one in my garage, waiting to go in one of my cars maybe. My 122 is a good fit for it because the headroom is huge, I drop the seat low, and the visors are tiny anyway.

I think it's just normal decay, that rubber they used to use cracks really bad when it gets sun baked and just kind of flakes off after a while. Hand oil might play a role in it too.

Mister Kingdom posted:

So we did your free tire rotation, it needs new brake rotors and pads all round, calipers on 14 brakes, 9 wheel bearings, 12 tires, 5 tie rod ends, 2 steering pumps, 2 miles of brake line, 4 gallons of brake fluid, and a new jacuzzi pump. I can't legally let you drive it out of here, either call a 400 foot tow truck or pay us $48,000 to do the work.
