I dunno about you guys, but I totally want a barrel of high octane fuel strapped to my shin in my fighting robot suit, and a miniature particle accelerator apparently strapped to my head. (I love these old suit schematics too. I would PORE over the Iron Man ones in the '90s.)

The panic is perfectly drawn. Clark just using every ounce of Super-intellect to try and figure out how to convince her to let him comp her papers, while not A) spilling Bruce's secret identity and B) not sounding like a selfish, bad son.

I dont think anyone could write a satisfying worded response to that. "...no Ma. Ill just put this back in the mail room then." Secretly she knows. And is just saving it for when shes annoyed with supes.

Well aside from the "lol his parents are dead bitch" aspect, Clark is just a really sweet guy and his mom laying that on him probably hits him like a ton of bricks. Bricks made of Kryptonite.

I like to imagine that Clark is afraid that Bruce has wiretapped the place and is in mid-meltdown at this moment. Because wiretapping the Kent's farm is totally something Batman would do.

The one good thing about Identity Crisis was the art. I liked the way Rags Morales drew it.

# ? Jun 28, 2015 12:50 |

I don't really like that Ma Kent design nor much about Identity Crisis, but Rags Morales did draw the loving hell out of that series. That's at least half of why any casual fans used it as a springboard to get into DC because lord knows the writing doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

I dunno. Sometimes Morales' style goes a bit wonky. I know Clark is supposed to look stunned and humbled by Ma's remark, but honestly he could just be in the middle of a really long fart.

Uh, going on the design of the suit itself, the knee support and flexing actuator isn't going to prevent the suit from breaking his radius and tibia bones if his suit bends at the arms and legs.

Maybe it will only bend them instead of breaking them.

Titanium is actually quite flexible. I had my tibia reconstructed with a titanium rod through the marrow, and before the bone grew back around it my shin would flex and bend when I lifted my leg. I'm just going to go out on a limb and guess that "Titanium Man" doesn't refer to the suit, but the guy inside it.
|
# ? Jun 29, 2015 23:36 |

Oh no, the suit's titanium all right. Stark once lit it on fire accidentally with his jet boots while they were grappling and was horrified to realize he couldn't put it out. I think he ended up hauling TM up into space to deny the fire any oxygen.

When the Gremlin wore the suit, he just sat in the chest area. Then Iron Man murdered him.

Wasn't that the 'Armor War' arc where Tony basically went around beating up anyone he so much as thought had power armor based on his design? I didn't know titanium was flammable, though
