Don't Liverpool have like two whole teams worth of disappointing players now? Surely they have to be having a fire sale soon.

Juventus announced that they refused an €80m offer for Pogba from Barcelona. He's going to be the most expensive transfer ever, isn't he. Can't wait to see who Real or Barcelona has to let go to fund his transfer fee.

It was three years ago this Friday that Pogba left Man United, and now he's 22 and one of the best midfielders in the world and soon to be the most expensive footballer ever. gj fergie

Hashtag Banterzone posted:Yeah but he wanted £20k a week! Which would've been more than Cleverly! The issue wasnt the contract so much as the fact that Fergie didnt give him a chance in the team because he was a stubborn old oval office. Ultimately Fergie was right with the likes of Ravel Morrison and Ezekiel Fryers, but Pogba was a massive mistake and Ive never understood how someone who watched the youth team in the seasons before that couldnt see how he was going to be a good player, let alone a great one. Thats our Fergie tho.

In terms of numbers yeah we have far too many players so we need to offload some (Coates to Sunderland, Borini to West Ham? are nearly done). It's not like we are in desperate need of money though - I think we had a pre-sales transfer fund of £30m-£40m. Firmino is £21m, Clyne is £12.5m, and Gomez £3m so we're around halfway through that. If/when we sell Sterling that will fund Benteke. Transfer funding is the new code tags.

Shaqiri was bad for Inter but so was everyone else on that team. Hard to blame him individually. You can probably blame Podolski though.

Dunban posted:is he Yeah, yeah, he sucked at Bayern and Inter, doesn't mean he's a bad player. I'm convinced that he can do well, just probably not at Bayern's level and when expectations are too high. He really should have gone to Liverpool when he (allegedly) had the chance.

Saido Janko from Man Utd to Celtic is a Done Deal No idea if he's any good, maybe he can cover for our 3 good but injury prone right backs.

He's decent enough. Strong, quick and gets forward well. A bit surprised United are getting rid of him because he was their reserve player of the year the season before last and he's still only 19. I guess he wants first team football.

Right backs are unnecessary in the modern game imo, Van Gaal knows.

I wonder why United or City didn't move for Clyne at that price? The former need a right back and the latter desperately need home grown players. Would have thought we would have faced more competition tbh as he looked great every time I saw Southampton play.
