Josuke may be my favorite Jojo.

I'm not positive only because I like every Jojo.

So I'm reading Stone Ocean and I have to concur that Jolyne is really awesome and I love her as a protagonist. Also I just got to the Bohemian Rhapsody arc and ummm :stare:

Even by Jojo standards this arc is weird as hell, and that's in the same part with the guy who made outer space happen and the poison frog tornado and the sentient plankton colony.

Josuke is the best. I also liked when they discover some guy using his Stand toget rich, they immediately figure out how to use it to get even more rich.

I am reading Stone Ocean (I skipped Vento Aureo.... for now) and I was thinking that it's pretty funny how, compared to the last arc, no one is taking a lot of horrific injuries in true Araki fashion, probably because Stone Free isn't a healing Stand, then Jolyne got shot in operation Savage Garden, I was real worried. But, oh it looks like Foo Fighters can use her plankton as a stand in, cool.

Next Stand battle Hermes gets a finger bit off and Jolyne gets her shoulder munched by an invisible alligator. Looks like he just couldn't loving contain herself.

But, yeah, Jolyne is cool as hell and I like the prison setting a lot. White Snake's power is loving bonkers I love it. I like how in this part, the problem of Jotaro's insane Stand is solved early on by just loving putting him into a coma. Fantastic. The panties discussion reminded me of a scene where, I think Hermes offers to giver her panties to the suicide dude, to cheer him up, which is one of the few times I can recall where something really idosyncratic to Japan slipped into a part of Jojo set somewhere else, not featuring Japanese characters. Seems kind of out of place.

I am curious if we ever learn about who all these Stand disks came from eventually. I'm guessing no. I also realised that, I don't think in Part IV they ever reveal what happened to the second stand arrow (the one that gave Kira Bites the Dust).

No, he's not. He got the birthmark when Pucci absorbed the green baby because the baby was Dio's essence(?) (actually idk what it is. It's like a homunculus created from his/Jonathan's bone).

stone ocean felt like it went by way too quick, if a bit too many fights. i really liked the ending though. i can see how most wouldn't.

vento aureo felt kinda short too despite being a little bit longer than part 4, which is still the most perfect part to me so far.

i kinda wish the series would have a few more fights like The Sun that are solved really easily and the enemy is a complete failure. I guess Yo-Yo-Ma fight was the closest thing to that.

excited to start steel ball run.

i think the pacing in SO is kinda thrown off with the big bad and his stand being introduced so early. i would have liked to see jolyne trying to adjust to prison life a little more, just a few more moments of social interaction instead of constant fighting. any time they were trying to teach FF a thing was total gold.

Gyro is definitely the main character in the beginning, and Johnny is very definitely the main character at the end
Gyro and Johnny are equally important through most of the series
They're both the main character. The protagonist and deuteragonist, and who is who depends on the fight. Johnny is protag for Ringo Roadagain, for instance, and Gyro is for Wekapipo.

Vento Aureo is actually only 3 chapters longer than Stardust Crusaders and 19 shorter than Diamond is Unbreakable.

Gyro is definitely the lead character in both the Ringo and Wekapipo fights, though.

Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

Yeah, Johnny was in trouble for the actual fight against Ringo. He was the protagonist for the Axl Roe (is that his name? The dude with Civil War) fight though, that's a better example.

I remember the Eleven Men fight being mostly centered around Johnny, but I'm not entirely sure if that applies to the entire fight or if my memory's just coloured by Johnny tearfully giving the corpse parts away being one of my favorite moments in SBR.

Jojo has just become Momento. I am okay with this.

Edit: Is Jolyne culturally Japanese? I always thought she was American. It's just,I think all the written text and stuff so far has been in English so it's odd she is writing on herself in Japanese. I guess the writing in English I've seen so far has just been the translators. It's not even close to a big deal it just suddenly struck me as a little odd.

She's writing in English, it's just written as Japanese for the reader's benefit.

Like how in MGS3 everyone is talking in English even though they establish early on that they're actually speaking Russian.

Replacing signs is probably much easier than replacing the all of Jolyne's body writing.

Yeah but, like, Rohan is actually Japanese, so that's only to be expected. i didn't know if it was doing a (as has been said) MGS3/ Hunt for Red October thing or what.

As soon as I saw Emporio writing Japanese I got the picture though.
