Also I rewatched the entire performance to see if I could hear the Euph part Kumiko couldn't play and was a multi episode plot point, but I still couldn't hear it nor care due to listening to the trumpets instead lol

I have pro audio gear, it's there, but it's REALLY subtle. There's not much of a hope you'll hear it on normal audio. I think it was a mistake to not have a shot showing her doing it or not.

Why would she have played it? The teacher told her not to because she wasn't good enough yet. The "keep practicing" thing was more about her being given the chance to play it next time, in the next competition.
