The spiders aren't there to harm you, and they are awesome at killing pest insects. Except black widows. gently caress black widows. They make creepy messy webs too:

Pick posted:Camel spiders, of order Solifugae, are not actually spiders. Learn to loving tell the difference. If you take a look at the mouthparts, you can see how they attack their prey. Double jaws clamp down on the hapless critter, then the camel spider saws through the exoskeleton by alternating a push-pull action with the independently moving jaws. Cuts through rather quickly, then the sweet, moist innards are exposed.

Widows are the poo poo and they are great at keeping other critters out of the house. I had a few that made their webs in the upper and lower corners of my front door, and they should be awarded the highest honor for their dedication to duty.

All the coolest parts of nature involve guys trying really hard to get laid. Anyway, here's a trio of subtropical banana spiders. They are known for weaving webs that you walk into on the way to get your paper in the morning, and for potentially growing to be very large and delicious.

Okay so what is that? It looks like a spider that couldn't decide on what kind of skeleton it wanted and just went for both, pretty gross but also cool

Saltacids (jumping spiders) are cool. They hunt by sight and stealth like tiny little cats. I've spent hours watching them put the boots to hapless little bugs. They'll look you right in the eye. they can recognize faces. They know you are looking at them. ... There's a compact and tiny ferocious little mind in there, I think.

The very big ones live in Antarctic waters. PS I don't know anything about pycnogonids besides them looking really cool.

I always leave spiders alone because they eat the gross bugs that I hate. But while I can appreciate the spider, I do not like the spider. I'd say I am at 'truce' levels with the spider.

So in a fight between a house centipede and a typical house spider, this is Northeast US, so no monolithic types up here. Who wins. I want the answer to be spiders but I fear the answer is not spiders.
