This may or may not be correct.

How many major MMO launches are even still likely to happen at this point? Fallout Online will be a MOBA, hope you're happy.

For a while I wanted a Fallout Online.
Then I thought about it for a few minutes and realised I'd prefer a normal Fallout game.

A lot of people seemed bummed out that FO4 wasn't getting co-op (duh), and for some reason I used to think it would be cool when I was playing Skyrim, I think a lot of it is to do with the whole "watercooler game" thing where people like to play the games as they come out and talk about the stuff they see afterwards. Co-op I guess helps people have that shared experience together but I don't think it would actually work in the game.

Yes, I have, and ESO is a decent MMO. It's most likely their test/learning experience project before they start into FO.

Dark Souls does it and it's fine.

People caring way to much about saves itt when you can play the game however you want. If people wanna reload 35 times, fine. If they dont, fine. It doesn't affect you in any way whatsoever.

Also I want the ability to become a prostitute in the game. It'll be a good gimmick. "gently caress a pre-war person!" The player would make so much bank.

I guess if you go in not knowing what an MMO is and expected another Skyrim, then maybe. I've never really been wowed by an Elder Scrolls game, but they're pretty decent. Pretty to look at and a good leveling system, but there was still something "eh" about them I can't put my finger on. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge high-fantasy guy.

It would probably still suck because it would be an MMO developed by people who released a game that didn't get fixed until our very own Ropekid did it himself with Jsawyer.esp

Very true, but the difference is no one would admit it sucks. Besides, bugs in the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games are usually funny and not often intrusive. When they are, they're loving hell (Old World Blues was infested with digital AIDs), but I've yet to find one that I couldn't get around somehow.

Well Bethesda and neo obsidian fallout group doesn't allow kids to be harmed in its games so the mmo goons wouldn't be interested anyways.

This is the games forum on Something Awful Dot Com. Every single goddamn thread has at least a few tedious motherfuckers come out of the woodwork to remind us that every game we like is trash and we should probably just kill ourselves. Usually they use the same tired "breaking up the circle jerk" excuse too.

Dozens of shitposters have trashed Obsidian in this very thread (and the rest of us have done some griping as well), so I really don't see the point of rehashing this crap.

The difference is that Obsidian bugs eventually get fixed unless they're in Alpha Protocol, but I'm not sure you're capable of appreciating post-end of life support for any product, since Bethesda does none of that (the last builds for Skyrim and Fallout 3 continue to have egregious engine bugs that need to be patched out by Script Extender). At least two of your arguments for preferring Fallout 3 (dungeons, atmosphere) are actually legitimate.

Bholder posted:

There was no cool failure dialogue in Fallout 1/2 but a nice way to keep the good part of dialogue check failure is to keep the failure option always available as the obvious "dumb answer"

That's probably why New Vegas still has constant memory leaks all around and why Old World Blues is still plagued by the bug where you can't leave the DLC in hardcore mode unless all your needs are at a solid 0.

Both 3 and NV are riddled with bugs, as is Skyrim and every Bethesda game. You can't just trash on one and act like the other is perfect.
