You launder it to Hong Kong dollar at high stakes gambling tables in Macau and then can change it for western currencies and store it in your swiss bank account.

Your bank card works in Macau. Go to a pawn shop and buy a nice watch for 100k+ using your bank card and immediately sell the watch back to the pawnshop. They will take a small commission but you now have unrestricted currency. Alternatively, buy the watch in China, wear it over the border, and trade it at a pawn shop with a larger commission.

For my wife's business, we run into this problem. Each Chinese citizen is only allowed to wire out $50,000 a year. Luckily, she has 4 sisters and a brother, so we use their names to wire out cash. You are limited to $5,000 in cash to carry out on an airplane per person. The Macau thing might be what we end up doing if her business keeps going like it has been.

There was a bubble. Stock market went up 117% in less than a year. The bubble started to pop, to the tune of about 30%. The pop stopped when the CCP took most shares off the market and subsidized the others. Now they're implementing policies to try and keep the bubble from ever popping. Consensus is that this will eventually be worse than just letting things play out now.

After the greatest drop in the Chinese stock market in 10 years, the CCP shut it down, and the day it re-opened it posted its biggest gain ever.

Pro-PRC people are trying to claim its completely fine and legit and absolutely not a symptom of a bubble, but the CCP has banned business and large shareholders from selling any more stock and ordered them to buy up more. Everyone else with the most casual awareness of economics knows this will not work and China's economy is now blatantly propped up artificially. This attempt to stave off the natural result of wild and careless investing is going to slowly get worse and worse until it explodes in the worst economic catastrophe ever seen (maybe).

Perhaps, but now with record gains and Goldman Sachs screaming BUY BUY BUY, prices are likely to shoot right back up. I'm willing to bet that every time they remove the props supporting the stock market, prices start to crash as people cash out to avoid the pop. Has there ever been a case of a country popping a bubble this enormous without causing a panic?

Edit: Also, who wants to bet that the crash will come weeks after all the big investors have been allowed to de-expose themselves through off-market trading?

The mainlandization of Hong Kong is now fully underway.

That article posted:

Members of a pro-police group have accused local broadcaster RTHK of producing TV programmes critical of the government and in favour of last year’s pro-democracy Occupy protests.

Around ten protesters from the Justice Alliance arrived by tour bus at RTHK’s headquarters on Thursday to protest against the broadcaster’s “biased” reporting.

They called RTHK a broadcaster that “hurts the feelings of Hong Kongers”. The group said that the publicly funded broadcaster had a tendency to pick on the government, as well as give airtime to guests who speak in favour of last year’s Occupy demonstrations.

Why do Chinese care so much about hurt feelings? Doesn't Chinese culture realize that men who openly give a poo poo about their feelings shouldn't be viewed as respectable men?

Fall Sick and Die

It's not actually about hurt feelings it's about forcing the other side to either apologize for your 'injury' which puts them in a subordinate position where they admit they were wrong or letting them not apologize which casts them as bullies eternally picking on poor China. Remember this is literally a country which casts the conflict between China and the Philippines/Vietnam as China being bullied around with their territory stolen, just like during the Century of Humiliation.

You can't buy if it's illegal to sell. All transactions must have two parties.

I don't think that's correct, I think it's much more likely a sign of how little political control the government can affect over the military, who presumably don't give a poo poo and are realistic in assuming that the longer Taiwan remains independent, the lower the chances of ever regaining it without violence.
