I think the only way the GOP can defeat him is claim that his support for "taking care of everyone" with the "sorry, conservatives" line makes him a socialist non-conservative, and then hope he doubles down on it like with immigration and alienates enough of the base.

So what are the chances that Trump actually spends his money to build campaign infrastructure in the early primary/caucus states and pay for ads like a normal politician would? He is rich enough to build a real campaign if he wanted to, but I'm not sure that's his goal here.
