you know, the sad thing is I really wish I could respect the GOP and Democrats. I mean I'm sure the Republican Parties had some good ideas/policies before the Reaganites systematically kicked that to the curb. Like, something actually debate worthy instead of mudslinging.... or am I just being naive and its always been a zoo?

If it's any comfort, I doubt this RSF will stay in place all the way up to November 2016. We're still early enough in the primary season that nothing that's going on really matters, Trump's antics are just making them fun and Bernie's rise is getting people a little fired up - both advents that lend themselves well to shitposting and throwing catchphrases around. If it turns up the volume around here on the August 6th Trump Debates then I'm all for it.

They were, until the Dems got absolutely creamed in last year's midterms. They have quite a margin to make up now. If they take the Senate back, it will be by a very slim margin; it could even wind up a 50-50 split.

Chard posted:the cuban is a superior sandwich Communist! Though they are pretty good. Actually, the best sandwich under the official Wisconsin definition of a sandwich is obviously a bacon cheeseburger, with regional variations on type of cheese and extra condiments. This is probably the only thing ever I'd agree with Walker on, but a proper medium rare burger with crispy bacon and sharp cheddar is probably the closest you can get to heaven in your mouth. We might differ on other condiments, but assuming everything else is cooked to perfection I would like a little bit of lettuce and some raw red onion to make it crunchy.

tekz posted:Am i nuts or is it only 2015. How come theres a 700 page thread for primaries for an election that doesnt happen till late next year Because the primaries are already underway. If you don't live in the US I can understand how this would be confusing but the election circus starts well over a year before the actual elections. In some cases people basically campaign since the previous elections they didn't win (Romney). Fulchrum posted:House, yes, Senate, not so much. Its the 2010 Tea Party waveup for reelection in a Presidential election. The odds are actually in the Democrats favor to take the upper house back. They really aren't. While 2010 was a GOP wave there aren't that many seats up for reelection that would be solid Dem steals. If the Dems have a good turnout then retaking the Senate could happen (unlike the House) but it's by no means a think that will happen if/when the Dems take the White House.
