Ahh poor bastard - batted really well not to get that 100. What's the follow on score? They never show it on the score bars on sky.

Clarke has never enforced the follow on and he won't start now unless he wants to see a whole buncha monocles dropped onto cucumber sandwiches

Josh Lyman posted:Is there a way I can listen from the US? In addition to the link from Lionel Ritchie, you can try the Australian Broadcast Corporation stream which carries it as well and seems to be more current than the YouTube stream. It is even ahead of the text stream on cricinfo. http://www.abc.net.au/radio/stations/grandstand/live?play=true Works on my phone but not on my PC, so ymmv. You may want to look at getting a willow.tv subscription for the last three tests. It is $7.99 per month and gives you a reliable video stream that you can still match up with TMS if you want to. EDIT: Scratch that, apparently willow doesn't have The Ashes this time around. Still plenty of Indian cricket though. Antifreeze Head fucked around with this message at 15:44 on Jul 18, 2015 |

Vpn access is about $5 a month, get access to geoblockrd stuff. star sports in India for example has free streaming of the ashes for Indian ip's.

Why is broad standing there with his bat at two o'clock like it's baseball

Because he's not a classical batsman.

Anderson's 51st not out. Bradman only had 10

Someone with maths tell me how much better Anderson is than Bradman.

Warner to stick around and get a juicy 13 before getting out in a silly way.

Warner should be out half a dozen times by now, again

Ponting and Warne are commentating on the Sky at the moment - basically it the Channel 9 style gauffing, old funny pictures of the commentators and a long spiel about people that don't like each other in the team (no mention of KP hilariously enough)

Dave Warner's gone out with instructions to get quick runs. If England can't get him out you have to ask just how dumb they are.

He apparently averages over sixty batting in the third innings with a lead. Not much for pressure, I guess.

I did not expect this when i went out to a work family day out. Silly that both Stokes AND Cook didn't go on to get 100-150 on this pitch.

If we can get quick runs now the overnight declaration just might be on Lead of 350+ already

I ask myself rhetorically could England chase 350 on a flat deck and all the signs come up no

# ? Jul 18, 2015 18:27 |

Australia will want a lead of 500 again before they declare because for all Englands idiot shots, the pitch is capable of a monster run chase.
|
# ? Jul 18, 2015 18:28 |

Declare 40 mins before lunch tomorrow imo setting about 450.

England making 350 batting last is about as likely as something that's very unlikely

Before the days play they would be like hell yeah we are the new look England , we play positive , aggressive cricket we can chase 350 And then they would be all out ~200

i think Australia were stupid not to enforce the follow-on because this is an easy pitch to block on for 150 overs and England are much less likely to throw away early wickets if they know it's impossible to chase.

I think Australia will play for the win, but they want to really rub England's faces in it - either by an impossible run chase or a extremely decisive victory... This will put the fear of English media back into the England team, and help snow ball the pressure they'd be under playing at home.

I understand the sentiment but still think the follow-on is a better means because it gives the opportunity to win by an innings.

If rodgers and smith get their names on the honors board twice in one test while no english player manages to it would be hilarious considering how the media and players talked about them prior to the series.
