One of Fallout 3's higher-profile concept artists, Adam Adamowicz, allegedly remarked upon seeing the High Standard Model 10 shotgun that it was, "probably one of the most amazing firearms I've ever seen...I've got to get it into a game somehow." Then he ate an entire brick of Wright's Pink Popcorn and declared it to be, "the truest form of popcorn I've ever tasted."

I guess we won't be expecting the High Standard Model 10 in Fallout 4 then, after all.

Seriously though, after his death Bethesda put together a nice memorial page that includes every bit of his concept art they could find and scan. It includes 809 ones for Fallout which are pretty great to thumb through.

I would ask how a man could feel so wounded by the death of somebody he didn't even know who died over three years ago, but I'm still upset about Fallout 3 and that was a game I didn't even play that came out almost eight years ago.

From what I remember, there's a bit in Broken Steel where you take a subway ride. The engine couldn't do vehicle travel so they made the subway car into a hat for you to wear and moved you along the tracks. Kind of creative really, imo.

Certainly the Something Awful Forums would never make fun of a dead person. We may Never Forget.

Anyway I know someone who gets that loot crate thing in the mail and they keep calling me up to tell me about it excitedly. Apparently there's going to be a fallout 4 one and "That's totally awesome".

You can perform abortions on enemies too, now? I know they chose a lot of popular mods to turn into proper gameplay mechanics but that seems like an odd one.

I also learned that the elevator that you take to the top of the Washington Monument in Fallout 3 doesn't actually move. The entire monument and the poo poo you can see outside of it moves downwards or upwards while the elevator stays still.

My favorite mod for New Vegas is the Big Big Boomer, which takes the Big Boomer sawed off and doubles the barrels, all going off at once.

i guess that kind of makes sense in-engine, because now i can't recall either FO3 or NV having any kind of movable object that does horizontal or vertical movement. any time you "use" an elevator it just teleports you to a different cell, and other than certain doors being able to swing open, there's not another situation where you even see a movable object.

wait, in NV, there's a quest in Camp McCarran where you have to do something with the monorail that runs between the based and New Vegas. do you ever get to ride it or does "using" it just teleport you to the opposite cell in New Vegas? i only ever tried the quest once and it got hilariously bugged so that as soon as i finished talking to the quest giver the bomb always went off immediately, so i never really got to interact with it

Yeah the monorail just teleports you. It's funny I had played through the game like 4 times before I even tried to use the monorail, and I found the whole back section of Vegas that I had never bothered to look at before (or even knew existed), the sign store and the vault casino, NCR outpost, etc. I had never walked past The Tops in all my previous play throughs :v:
