I wrote a walkthrough on GameFAQs of Dementium 2 to get like $20 Amazon bucks. I couldn't believe how much email I received for that, I think the last one I received was last year. Edit: It has a cliffhanger ending, which annoyed me.

So if Five Nights at Freddy's 2 takes place both before and in a different location from the first game, then why is it even haunted? Because it looks like the murders took place at the smaller location. I'm assuming it's really simple and I'm just not getting it. I've read the thread, but I don't remember if there's an issue with spoiling year-old games, so I'll play it safe.

The murders take place during the second game and the toy animatronics are freaking out because they're hooked up to the FBI criminal database to recognize violent criminals, and are either screwed up by seeing the murderer on day shift or because he reprogamed them. The murderer is the guy who had your job before you in the second game and got transferred to day shift.

It went on sale for Halloween last year, that's when I picked it up. But that is literally the only time I've ever seen it on sale.

It got a physical release in Europe and Australia. It is possible for it to be cheaper to import the physical edition than it is to buy the digital US version.

You could also try splitting it with someone à la the old PS3 game sharing thread if you find an interested partner. EDIT: Oh, poo poo, I guess that thread got archived. Well, long story short, two people agree to share a game. One makes a new PSN account and buys it full price, gets paid by the other person through PayPal, and then sends them the log-in info after removing their credit card info or whatever. The plasma cutter trivialized every encounter in that game, DS1 has atmosphere in spades though but there was never a combat moment I felt truly out of my league. And I enjoyed DS3 as well, I played it coop and it was awesome having my friend tell me about the balloons and toy soldiers and I'm like what the gently caress are you talking, I don't see anything, the universal ammo didn't bother me since you could build some crazy weapons and having limited inventory actually stopped from using more guns in previous DS games since it tended to fill up with ammo for all my guns, the cover system was also entirely useless since all human enemies died in one hit.

It's strange, I never felt strongly about the plasma cutter. By the time it was a viable weapon all the scripted encounters included being assault from all sides by those super fast black or white necromorphs, the ones that explode, or the ones that have swarms inside of them that will drain your health super loving fast. The real bread and butter is the force gun. Halfway upgraded it kills everything close range in two shots or knocks them back so you can runaway. Fully upgraded you just sit in a corner and blow away everything that rushes you.

In DS1, I liked the flamethrower on principle so of course I'd get hit by "Realism means flamethrower doesn't work when we cut the oxygen!" moments. Like when they cut the oxygen and a swarm of tiny crawly things pop up. Then I got to take advantage of the zero gravity during the Leviathan boss fight to simply float fire at it, completely trivializing the fight. Oh, you shut your mouth over your glowing weak spot? That's nice, it's still on fire. Thanks, "realism"

I think any weapon upgraded a couple of times in any of the DS games felt overpowered. Force Gun was a lovely shotgun, Plasma Rifle was for people who wanted to shoot limbs off with precision, and the flamethrower was a videogame flamethrower. They all rip through poo poo with a couple of upgrades. Just depends on how you wanted to play it. But honestly your reaction to your playthrough regardless of difficulty is extremely subjective. With that being said, we can all agree on the focus of each game deviating away from survival horror as you go through the series. Jigoku fucked around with this message at 08:52 on Jul 20, 2015 |

Lakeview Cabin collection updated with level 2! And it is really loving something, and also seems to have randomised elements baked into it this time. You play as a band who get stuck on the Island, and immediately starts bad and gets worse. Really taking cues from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and House of 1000 Corpses. So far I've managed to kill the pig but not without sacrificing one of the band, it seems a lot less puzzle-y at the moment than the first, and more about dealing with a lot of enemies at roughly the same time. Agreed, it had the RE4 problem of being scary right until you realised you could massacre any enemy. However if you play it on the hardest mode it actually becomes scary or at least tense in my opinion. Enemies are far harder to kill and even weak ones can kill you in one or two hits at most. Really cranks up the tension, for sure the best way to play the game.

DS3 was a super fun co-op game with some neat ideas thrown in with some bad ones. Really, I think one's enjoyment is contingent on how fun they find the co-op, but I find that's true for RE5 and 6 too.

If you thought to yourself that you hadn't been spooked enough today, the final update to Spooky's House of Jump Scares has just been released. Aside from the actual final portion of the game being done, they seem to have added some new stuff to what has already been released. I wanted to check it out, but I started feeling spooked by the time I got to Room 50...

So, has anyone heard anything about Until Dawn ? The premise seems pretty interesting. Hopefully the gameplay won't be trash. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/how-ps4-exclusive-until-dawns-choices-can-mean-lif/1100-6428943/ quote:Until Dawn is a game about manipulating relationships. In a story where eight hormone-fuelled young adults are trapped together for one terrifying night, the possibilities for emotional mayhem are endless. Throw in the imminent danger of death at the hands of a serial killer and tensions run high in a very dramatic, very entertaining way.

I'm weary to be excited for Until Dawn if only for the fact that it's been in development for a number of years, and even if it was only to switch from PS3 to PS4, it doesn't usually bode well for something to be stuck in development limbo for that long.
