i always usually did date masamune or oda nobunaga because they are the raddest, but sometimes i would play uesugi because warrior monks are cool and his clan gets a big bonus to them

They are epic on the two best Sengoku game: Basara and Rance.

in game the shimazu clan is the actual always boringest choice, because they just get straight buffs to their sword units and are also at the southern tip of the map so they are safe from attack mostly

they also are probably the easiest to totally convert to christianity, which means you can get cheap guns very very quickly compared to other people

calling them boring is a bit mean cause they're a good starter choice if you've never played the game before, along with the chosokabe who gets loads of money and are good archers

The Mori start the game already at war with another faction, and that faction has already gotten into your territory and is stalking around your capital, so the first move must be defence!

Usually the game sticks your daimyo in the capital and his heir in control of the armies but its best to lead by example so I swapped it around. The armies are about the same size here with me being slightly bigger.

I put my archers up front with my infantry behind and general on the flanks, after being harassed by the archers their general decide to try to chase them off but its easy to just run archers behind the dudes with the pointy sticks so this charge did not work out well.

Without any general their dudes panic and start to run to the forest for some reason, leaving the archers undefended, so with some of the spears we charge and some of the other spears we go after the running ones. They turned around and fought but it didn't amount to much and they routed for real this time.

I love the victory music a lot!!!

And now they have no army left to defend their own capital, a one turn turnabout.

I'll probably try to keep any posts I do about this length, but that's all for tonight.

Shogun 2 is really fun!!
