Well it turns out some idiot in the group let their six year old kid ride an ATV and long story short he needed to be medivac'd out. Poor kid is on life support so the parents are loving idiots.

As it turns out we would've covered it, had we not grandfathered the medical travel the advisor bitched and bitched about.

I feel bad for the poor kid, but god drat it feels good to deny a claim on justifiable ground and then add "oh yeah those parents are shitheads and deserve to suffer".

If the first time you've had satisfaction in your job is from a child's injuries, then you need to find a new job. Either that, or you're a bad person. :(

It's the first time he's had satisfaction in his job, and it's from two parents who were pains in the asses and ended up being on the hook for a huge medical bill because of it, not because a kid is hurting.

Which is just going to cause hardship on the family... the kid certainly isn't going to end up anything but hosed from the ordeal... not a cause to celebrate.

More likely going to be in the $30k region, being in Canada and all.

We've got an rear end backwards system where sales gets a bonus from sales and I get nothing from saying no to them getting us into situations like this so I end up not giving a poo poo as its the easiest way to cope with this garbage.

Only time I've genuinely started screaming at a guy in sales was one group where the company owner found out an employee claimed $3000 for a wheel chair right before they were up for renewal and fired her and asked the sales guy to readjust the pricing, sales guy actually had the balls to fully explain the situation then ask that we not factor the $3k into pricing.

Well to be fair - it's a job that somebody needs to do. If he can do it and cope with it then great. There are a ton of jobs where you'll have to make sacrifices whether big or small, and we each have our own misery-threshold. Not everybody gets to be a park ranger riding lions on the Serengeti.

yeah its not fun, and had I known I was dealing with this poo poo along with doing pricing which is why I applied I probably would've turned down the job. I'm actively looking for something that pays around the same range, but the price of oil going through the floor killed a lot of the job market here.

It's more in my mind these parents being idiots letting their young kid ride an ATV with a side of the broker shooting themselves in the foot.

We cover physio and if the claim helped the kid in any way I'd probably fight tooth and nail to get this kid covered. As it stands in my view (that has been warped by this job) this is what the parents get for making an extremely stupid choice that injured their kid.

So awhile back I dropped Verizon for everything except internet. Of course, they wanted their equipment back. I had 1 cable box, 2 cable cards, the power supply for the cable box, and the remote.

I sent it all back in the box they provided, and taped the cable cards to the cable box so that they wouldn't bounce around and get damaged.

Got an email today saying they received the cable cards, but not the cable box. :wtc:

Still have the shipping receipt, showing that the box weighed 8.22 pounds. Those would have been some awful heavy cable cards...

Do you know the specifics of the story? How do you know the parents were being idiots?

Where I grew up kids rode mini bikes and mini atv's all the time, 6 yrs isn't that young. So unless he was riding a full size atv instead of a child size I don't see the problem, especially if he was wearing the right gear. Accidents happen.

I either didn't get the oven hot enough, didn't leave it in long enough or didn't make it thin enough because the thicker parts were still a bit dough-y
Also forgot to flour the pizza tray and had to pry the pizza off with a knife.

That said it was still gorgeous and I will attempt it again.

Never expected it to be hard to make a circle.

Made with reggie reggie sauce for the base (on offer for £1 a bottle at asda at the moment), polish turkey sausage, olives and mixed cheddar/mozzarella cheese.

Good effort. Pizzas that aren't circular are 'rustic' and 'artisan' so you can charge another £5 on top for those... :v:

Oven = HOT AS IT CAN GO, I've left them an hour before putting anything in them before now. Top shelf. Pizza stone if you have one. If not, get one. Once you've shaped the dough, remove extremely hot pizza stone from the oven and put your shaped dough on it, add sauce and toppings and it'll cook the underneath while you're doing it. Put in oven. Wait. Eat.

The longer you leave the dough in the fridge, the easier it is to get ridiculously thin pizza. Of course you don't have to, you just CAN if you want.

Also reggae reggae is king of pizza sauce. Baking does something magical to it.

As hot as it will go. There are some crazy people out there who disable the locks on the self-cleaning mode and use the 500C goodness that entails, that's how hot you want. For me, 275C is good enough. As for the dough, I like to substitute a cup of durum semolina flour and some white wine for some of the water; I find it makes the thin crust even crispier and airier.

I keep telling my wife this. I make pizza on 250', she makes it at 200 or 180. Stones have to be hot. When I make them I do one at a time, stone in the oven, out, pizza on, in, next stone out, repeat, be quick and the first one is done when the third goes in, three pizzas feeds all four of us.

She still makes a good pizza though, she's started adding nearly enough chillies :v:

Production line pizza is best pizza. I once did this at a party, we managed 10 before people started slacking on ideas for what we should put them on. After discussion a further 10 followed. When you've got people willing to cut stuff and grate cheese it becomes a thing of wonder. And fatness.
