Other than putting something heavy on top you kind of don't.

maybe varnish the card first to give it more stiffness?

Moola posted:making some terrain with card as a base Do the bottom side first, because when you apply it to the other side it will crack the side you first glued. So basically glue the bottom to make it curve, then glue what people will see and that might sort it.

Moola posted:isnt this going to make the bottom of the base uneven though??? Get some tacks and pin it down onto something first. Failing that, just get some plasticard. An old For Sale sign is fine. I think you're trying too hard to get work out of an inferior product for what you're trying to do.

Seriously, using card for big bases is a pain in the rear end. Get some plasticard or thin plywood.

Hell, go to your dollar store equivalent and search around, you're bound to find something that would work better than card.

You could try scoring the surfaces that you're applying the glue to. Also don't use very much.

TheCosmicMuffet posted:Look for a political campaign for a cause or person you resent. Steal their signs. No joke, those signs are made of corrugated plastic and make for great I-beams. Just cut between the thin vertical lines of plastic that separate both sides and you have yourself an I-beam for any sort of terrain or basing project you need. A lot of print shops and DIY stores like Home Depot have them too, so you can purchase them there in just about any size.

After browsing around on kingdom death site I'm not sure if I should be more horrified that the site exists or that their miniatures are all pretty much sold out.

It's the latter. The site wouldn't exist if 'people' weren't willing to throw literally millions of dollars at their horrible dickmonsters.

It helps that their sculpts are very high quality regardless of the content itself. Their very expensive board game has some incredible looking monsters and armor and seems low on their fan service pin up poo poo. Being surprised their poo poo is popular is like being surprised people like Kill La Kill.

Followup on Montana spray paint I left alone the stuff that I sprayed about a week ago. The finish is better now, but still a little toothy. I would be willing to use the Black line of paints as primer for miniatures.
