AIM did a lot more than that. Like the armed take over of the BIA headquarters.

e: not really disagreeing so much as pointing out that it seemed to me more like a general reference to AIM at the time.

Donald Trump is threatening to stop trying to become the Republican candidate, and instead run as a third party option, particularly if he feels Republicans are treating him unfairly. This would probably just ensure that democrats win the presidential election, with Trump and the Republican candidate dividing the right vote between them.

had someone in a group hand in their part of the project once and it was a ctrl-c/ctrl-v out of wikipedia that didn't even remove the formatting notes. [citation needed] was a dead give away. I ended up having to do their part myself with about a day and a half to go

Hahaha, I was in a group with two spanish exchange students, and we agreed that I would set up a server, do most of the programming and other more practical parts of our project while they would write the report about the project itself. 3 days before the deadline they send me their report and not only did the report lack citations, I recognized that they had pretty much copy pasted all the relevant reseach from papers we been handed in class. So instead of putting the finishing touches on my work, I had to spend the 3 next days furiously rewriting everything to ensure that I would not be busted for plagiarizing, in a course that I did not loving need for my master grade. I am not sure if they did such an incredible lovely job because they were idiots or because they simple had not learned anything about citations or writing reports, but I was so dumbstruck by the whole ordeal, that I never bothered to inquire how the gently caress they could think that report was an acceptable as research.

Part of me wanted to simply hand in nothing, in order to fail those two dumbwits, since failing that course would not have affected me at all (besides wasting my time), but I just could not stand the idea of failing a class. Not to mention that the person responsible for the course was so lackadaisical about reports, that even if we had handed in the lovely report, it would probably not have affected the grades at all. I even told her the report was lovely because I had to rewrite it in 3 days and that there was a chance that there could be plagiarization in it, but we still got A for the project. It was so loving infuriating to get that grade on a project that I know should by all rights been shitcanned and that the pair of spanish fuckwits got away with it. :suicide101:

Kinda rings hollow from a cartoonist

Ehh, like with soldiers who are good at the killing and dying thing but may be inept at film making, it often takes someone else to translate an experience into an art form. Gordon Lightfoot never served on a deep water ship (as far as I know) but wrote a touching tribute to the sailors that died on the Edmund Fitzgerald. It is a rare person that is able to both survive a hazardous occupation or struggle and also make art from it. Sgt Barry Sadler co-wrote and performed, "The Ballad Of The Green Barets," for instance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK9KdJWTfQY

It's a noble thing to accurately make art that genuinely expresses the sacrifice of others (especially when so many cartoonists exploit hardships or use others as mouthpieces, rather than giving voice to their experience).

"Some of the dudes on this project really weren't pulling their weight" might not have caused much concern for some of the profs I had, but "this guy wanted to submit blatantly plagiarized crap" would've set any of them off.

This is kind of a funny comic when you consider the characters currently speaking to one another are a white man, a black man, a Latina, and a half-Asian half-white woman.

Also, ever since somebody in here posted an actual photo of Chris Muir, who looks exactly like Zed, this comic has gotten considerably more pathetic to me. I look at that first panel and all I see is Chris huddling with his diverse group of imaginary friends.
