If you're aggro, kill the opponent before he can wreck you or be able to do so after he arrives. If you're midrange, just keep playing the value game with rhinos and such. If you're control, take your pick of answers.

Absolutely disgusting. The following is satirical and in no means an attempt to be serious. Also unlikely, Chandra is a recongizable female face and right now the Walkers are Jace, Gideon for the male monos and Chandra, Liliana and Nissa for the female Mono's Well... the 'Faces' anyway. And if you want Ugin hits colourless. It's a nice balance.

The Wonderful101 is a fantastic game and everyone needs to play/watch a LP for it. Was there something between Chandra and Gideon in the lore? Also Gideon will just go Indestructible mode and gently caress poo poo up.

It was called the Purifying Fire by the Order of Heliud, the group that watched over the flame. With interest, Gideon pursued this legend hoping to study it and was initially denied his request by the head of the Regathan Order, Walbert. Walbert finally acquiesced if Gideon would do him a favor and tasked Gideon with recovering the planeswalker known as Chandra Nalaar when she left Keral Keep.

Sitting here in round 4 of a 5-round FNM, currently 3-0 and 6-0 in games. Im playing Atarka Goblins featuring the standout card from Origins: Molten Vortex! Honestly, Im playing 2 copies of the card and so far it's dealt the killing blow in 2 games, dealing a total of 10 damage in a single game. I know it's a lovely card but holy hell I cant argue with these results.

I went to a FNM draft tonight that was supposed to start at 7. I have never been to the store before, so I paid and sat down and waited. At about 7:05 I went and asked the person at the cash register what was going on. "Oh, we play FNM next door now!" Thanks for telling me when I signed up, I guess? They were already drafting so I just got a refund and went home, which was a 40 minute drive. I had such a fun night full of magic EDIT: I had asked like two different employees when it was and neither one of them said anything about it being next door in some vacant cafe. Ugh.

Tried out G/B standard elves at FNM. If it wasn't already obvious, it's just not quite there. It can ramp decently at a somewhat consistent rate, but closing out games in any sort of meaningful manner is a total crapshoot. Shaman life drains weren't just big enough most of the time, Collected Companies were usually really underwhelming, and Dwynen was an absolute magnet for targeted removal when you tried to close things out by that avenue. The whole thing also folds to every prominent and easy to cast field wipe out there like Drown in Sorrow or Anger of the Gods. There might be some more pieces coming in BFZ that will make this thing cohesive, but I'm personally gonna shelf it until then unless someone figures out something that everyone else is missing.

My last round opponent was playing Mono Red and once again Molten Vortex MVP. I hit 4 lands then every land after that became a shock, including clearing a path for Rabblemaster to swing in for the win in the final game. It could be confirmation bias but hot drat is this card the tits in a deck like this. If drawing a land is exactly what you don't want then find a spot for it.

Yeah I honestly don't know why people wouldn't play at least 2 of it in their red deck, especially if you have a deck that hates you and makes you draw 5 lands when you need gas. Vortex is a potential do nothing. Its a bit backwards to run a do nothing to avoid drawing do nothings.

eSporks posted:Vortex is a potential do nothing. Its a bit backwards to run a do nothing to avoid drawing do nothings. It triggers prowess when you play it the first time, and can surprise clear out blockers or finish an opponent. You really don't play it on turn 1, you play it when it becomes relevant. Suddenly you're turning 2 cards that do nothing in your hand in to advantage rather than dead draws. The #1 issue I found with the deck is that I'd get gassed and draw in to nothing but my 20 lands. If I weren't running vortex tonight it'd be the same case. But Vortex took it all and earned its spot in my deck. Now there's nothing saying that the maindeck is the RIGHT spot for it; you might want to side it in against midrange or a game that might take longer. But it has a home in the deck, no doubt.
