Yeah Iowa caucuses that year were all about which candidate had the best shot at beating Bush, as ordained by a bunch of septagenarian local Dem blowhards. I think loving Gephardt got second in our precinct.

I assume that strategy and overall demographic persisted in later primaries and it resulted in, well, Kerry. Though to be fair the entire line up was pretty thin that cycle.

When you google Bernie Sanders net worth you get $330,507, which makes him just about the poorest US senator. It really isn't much, some people have more equity in their house. Mitt Romney makes more than that per speech. So Bernie isn't really poor but he certainly is not rich.

Walkers beating him in Iowa, that good enough reason to target him.

I know some people think the polls are a joke, that people hang up the phone and say "Hey Martha, I just told this stupid poll guy I would vote for Trump, isn't that a hoot".

The problem is that a growing percentage of the US population has a Raging Hardon and wants to take all career politicians to the prison shower for a round of "stop whimpering and pretend you love this".

The frightening thing is these people vote. These people voted in a republican majority in congress. A Congress that is doing basically doing nothing because it might effect their chances at the white house, and these people are a little pissed.

So a guy runs for office on a "politicians are all idiots", and "I can't be bought" campaign, and these people think "hey this would really piss off the douche bags that are currently in office" so they vote for him.

The threat of Trump getting the non-ironic nomination is real. It all depends on how many of these pissed off people there are.

I don't care if this was covered, because:

quote:

On Saturday, [Trump] said he felt free to add Mr. Walker to his hit list after a Walker supporter called Mr. Trump “DumbDumb” in a fund-raising appeal.

“I said, ‘Finally, I can attack him,’ ’’ Mr. Trump said to laughter.

He went down a list of criticisms that seemed the result of an overnight opposition-research effort. “Wisconsin is doing terribly,’’ he said. “The roads are a disaster because they don’t have any money to rebuild them, and they’re borrowing money like crazy.’’

He cited figures for the state’s budget deficit. “I wrote this stuff all down but I don’t need it because I have a really good memory,” he said.

He also accused Mr. Walker of flip-flopping on the Common Core education standards, having once supported them. “Scott Walker changed when he saw he was getting creamed, so now he’s not in favor,’’ he said.

Mr. Trump gave $10,000 to Mr. Walker’s re-election campaign last year, something he alluded to in a meandering, backhanded way: “I’ve been nice to Scott Walker,” he said. “He’s a nice guy. He came up to my office three or four months ago and presented me with a plaque because I helped him with his election. I liked that he was fighting.

“I didn’t know what the hell he was doing, but he was fighting, and I like a fighter,” Mr. Trump added. “Does that make sense?”

As a BDSM metaphor, the first one would be admissible if "Dildonald" were respecting their safeword, or if the submissive didn't perceive the need to use it in the first place. I actually think the latter case would've made the analogy better.

The second example is a prison rape joke, and those are never funny. Rape is rape, regardless of where or to whom it's happening.
