I'm sure there's some sort of tofu dish that goes great with alcohol that Wakako will eat.

I've been waiting to watch this until it was all out but everybody cooking inspired me to also cook. Made karaage last night and salmon tonight, the skin was all crispy and it was delicious.

K. Flaps posted:What's some good sake you can buy at a normal store or amazon here in the west. Trader Joes sells a very palatable Junmai Ginjo for $10. Drink it chilled. Sake has mediocre shelf life and gets taxed to hell and back so the domestic stuff is worth trying, particularly Momokawa. You can usually find it at your local Bevmo. Nigori is cloudy unfiltered sake - I like Hakutsuru Sayuri, which is light and refreshing, and Momokawa Pearl, which is creamy and sweet. Pay attention to serving instructions - all but the really cheap stuff is typically served chilled or at room temp rather than warm. You can drink it out of a wine glass if you want to be extra fancy. Ocreata fucked around with this message at 07:31 on Jul 21, 2015 |

Some industrious person put up subs for e3 by the way, everyone. I haven't been able to watch yet so quality is not assured but it's something at least

I have yet to make any of the food featured on the show, since I haven't had the time to go to the nearby Asian market. It will happen, though.

I was going to make karaage but I ran out of oil so I'll make it tomorrow I did make mushi-pan though used the recipe here but subbed 1tbsp of flour for corn starch and used creme fraiche instead of yogurt. If I do them again I'd use only 1/2 tsp baking powder because they tasted a bit of soda. Stupidly easy and quick to make though, pretty difficult to gently caress them up

I made karaage today in nanban sauce They had lotus root on sale at the store and I'd not had it before so I fried it. It's okay. Kind of like a very firm potato fry.
