It compounds when the actual record holder couldn't be the person to attend the marathon in order to play the game. It's just a safer decision all around to not throw up the WR comparison, especially when time estimates usually have ten or so minutes added on to them to account for mistakes/setup/extra poo poo/incentives/game crashes/whatever.

EDIT: Oh, it is the PC port he's playing. That's why the visuals look a little sharper and the frame-rate seems a little better than what I remember.
