Probably one of the last ones in north america.

Will consider offers or trades.

Thinking about picking this up. I don't need a truck but drat it this one ticks a lot of of my boxes.
i.e. manual trans, mild exhaust-only mods, extended cab and a camper top, etc.

Anything I need to know about this generation of trucks?

Even the turbo IDIs had less torque than a modern gas job.

They're also less fuel efficient than the powerstrokes.

It looks great, but yeah you'll be chewing through gas and for seven grand you can get a much better (and newer) Ford.

Dodge trucks are notorious for being pigs on fuel. 9 is pretty low, but 11-13 mpg is pretty standard.

Which is sad, because my old F350 4x4 with a 460 could eak out 13.

My old dodge 2500 van got 13mpg with a 5.2 and an old air filter and 15 with a new filter. I was driving 90 miles a day right after college in it to my first job and gas was $4.25 a gallon.

New filter paid for itself in like a week flat. So glad I don't own that pile anymore.

That's crazy low, even in that condition. I was trying to find an 80's Mazda pickup for months and even the poo poo ones were still a couple of grand. Maybe it's just the south, but I can't find a small pickup with a four cylinder and manual trans for less than a few thousand. It's cheaper to be a late 90's Ranger than something from the 80's...

These pop up for under $5k in good shape routinely. I was considering one in Austin before I got that big Mercury, but I've already got three wagons. Still, it's one of the best looking cars Volvo has ever made.

A bit confused here. Are F-250s known for abnormal brake wear?
Haven't had many brake-related issues with the Durango... 3 brake jobs in the ~7 years I've owned it.

Kind of a moot point anyway, as the seller never emailed me back. Off to search again.

No but I thought that driving on the USVI (particularly St.Thomas) was rough on brakes in general because of how hilly everything is.
Most of the people I asked said they have to change their brakes annually.
I figure, heavy vehicle = more brake wear, so why not look for something smaller.

I guess down there beggars can't really be choosers. You don't have a whole lot to pick from in the first place.
