Carburator linkage fell apart. Needs full resto. Body is in amazing condition. Do not have time to restore her. Would be best with a donor motor cause parts are hard to find. I like that the photo is taken in the carwash while it's on a hook.

http://virgin.craigslist.org/cto/5122469435.html Thinking about picking this up. I don't need a truck but drat it this one ticks a lot of of my boxes. i.e. manual trans, mild exhaust-only mods, extended cab and a camper top, etc. Anything I need to know about this generation of trucks?

Even the turbo IDIs had less torque than a modern gas job. They're also less fuel efficient than the powerstrokes.

It looks great, but yeah you'll be chewing through gas and for seven grand you can get a much better (and newer) Ford.

My old dodge 2500 van got 13mpg with a 5.2 and an old air filter and 15 with a new filter. I was driving 90 miles a day right after college in it to my first job and gas was $4.25 a gallon. New filter paid for itself in like a week flat. So glad I don't own that pile anymore.

I was trying to find an 80's Mazda pickup for months and even the poo poo ones were still a couple of grand. Maybe it's just the south, but I can't find a small pickup with a four cylinder and manual trans for less than a few thousand. It's cheaper to be a late 90's Ranger than something from the 80's... blk posted:Good lord, I want this bad. To paraphrase a certain recently-disgraced comic actor - they go straight up and straight down No but I thought that driving on the USVI (particularly St.Thomas) was rough on brakes in general because of how hilly everything is. Most of the people I asked said they have to change their brakes annually. I figure, heavy vehicle = more brake wear, so why not look for something smaller. I guess down there beggars can't really be choosers. You don't have a whole lot to pick from in the first place.
