Each person has their own power and skill trees to advance them (like one chick has pyrokenisis but you can branch that out into pure fire or ice as well). It plays kind of like Valkyria Chronicles except enemies counter upon being attacked rather than on movement. The big gimmick though is every time you start a new game it randomly makes one of your people (possibly more, idk?) a traitor and you have to talk to your squad between missions and get a feel for them so when you're forced to point out whos the traitor you don't end up loving up, because it kills that person off permanently.

the game throws you a bone, when someone gets owned you get some items and poo poo that let you copy their skills. not as well, but still. dunno if they give you that stuff if you gently caress up, though.
