The most emergent companion quest you will get in this game is dog asking you for walkies and sniffing at something suddenly triggering either a random event and/or battle.

Also why should I give a poo poo about Piper when they don't tell us if she has a 50s news editor voice or not or if we can turn her rag into the National Inquirer?

It's only a town of significant historical weight in the history of the nation where the game company is making their video game that's about that nation in a post-apocalyptic setting with heavy emphasis on 'old values' style of culture, why would that be an interesting setting as opposed to scenic Dipshitsville?

Basically there's a lot of NEW ENGLAND poo poo you can pile on top of actual landmarks and it would be pretty cool. Granted they're not as iconic as like, the Statue of Liberty or anything but they're pretty famous landmarks.

Focus testing has been cancer on games for over a decade anyway. It was a neat idea, but the people they bring into these focus tests aren't people who play games or are interested in playing games and will usually throw the publisher the wrong incentive for what to do.

It's fine for something like the mobile market, but other types of gaming platforms requires less of that.

I don't know about a blanket and a pillow, but in addition to a flagpole "truck" that contains a single bullet, a match, and a razor blade, the CE is supposed to include a small cotton flag with "FALLOUT 4" on it that might work as a decent blanket.

Er; Fallout New Vegas question... for some odd reason my two most recent saves both have me dying immediately on spawn, and all of the 'hardcore mode' things (H20, FOD, etc.) start ticking over the warning messages increasing from 'minor' to 'advanced' as my death animation plays. Both times when I saved I was perfectly healthy, no poisoning, no negative effects, etc.

Rolling back a few saves evetything's OK but I'd lose a few hours gameplay :( Any ideas? I tried disabling hardcore mode but it switches straight back on as soon as the save loads, and the death is instantaneous...

Yeah, I honestly wanted fallout in Cleveland.

Boston/and metro area is much more interesting place than Las Vegas in reality as gimmicky a setting as Las Vegas, I don't see how it's dull unless you think anything without cacti is not worth you're time.

I get fallout is always supposed to be on the west coast but unless they wanted to do a prequel that would be pretty dull.

It really is, but so is almost every single town in America. If you are just making poo poo up, you can make anywhere look interesting or have gambling. Why would I care it's Vegas?

It's a marvel for boring reasons in a game. It took a lot of work to get that much poo poo in a desert, but unless you are playing a city management game it doesn't loving matter. The only thing they have there is hotels, casinos, and various other attractions. The history is one of....gambling and entertainment. It's one note, and monomaniacal. I would care more about Cowfuck, Wisconsin in a game because at least then I'm asking "Is...is someone going to gently caress a cow? Was there like some historic loving of cows in the past or something?".

It's like your posting. You do a lot of it, but it doesn't mean anything. It's a giant neon sign that says "Shitpost", with no actual character inside it. The only thing that comes from it is bitter regret and wasted opportunities. It is the killing ground for any productive impulse humanity has ever had, turned toward masturbatory self-indulgence and spiritual self-destruction.

I sense you're being willfully obtuse because you feel you have some sort of dog in this race, but I've yet to hear any reason why Boston is an interesting setting. Books, a baseball field, and a subway. What makes these something I should care about at all versus an entire city of lights and sound like Vegas?
