Probably that the stage select icons don't match up with those in the trailers and therefore were taken from a different source and photoshopped in.

Part of me is happy in a spiteful way that Lloyd is just a costume and part of me is mad that he's referenced in the game at all. Really hated him as a character and his constant attempts to remind you that he's an overblown example of the moron protagonist cliche.
