I think I might have hosed up my controller at some point because I can't really enter text with it anymore. I can't move the selection box off the middle of the screen, and it's acting like I'm trying to use the touchpad to enter text even when I'm not. Touching the touchpad does nothing, but clicking it in works. Is there anyway I can turn off the touchpad functionality for text input?

There are many issues in life that are systemic in scope and incredibly difficult for any single person or even large groups of people to change. That does not mean they are not worth having a dialog about, or worse dismissing them as non-issues. On the very topic you bring up, the discussion and outrage from fans has already elicited positive change, and many newer games in the past 1-2 years have had much better female character design, and in some cases developers have literally altered a character design due to fan response. I think that makes it more than a pointless topic.

My dude, the only way you can feel this topic is pointless or irrelevant is if you can't empathize with the people who are typically underrepresented and misrepresented in games who finally have a way to speak up about it.
