equal bets put on barnett against nelson by decision (+345) and by finish (-110). better than a straight bet (-220) imo

Is tonight the greatest moment in Dominick Cruz's life?

No.

The greatest moment in my life was realizing that I didn't need a belt to be happy.
I like those bets and will probably copy them. Although I do think Barnett is more likely to get the stoppage.

I put down $25 on Rumble because I just can't see him losing to Jimi Manuwa. There aren't any props yet on a KO finish but I'll probably double up on that too.

Nothing really jumps out at me about next week's card other than I think the odds are too close in Story vs Silva cause as much as I like Erick Silva he really only does have 1 good round in him and Rick Story is the perfect sort of dude to weather that storm and take rounds 2 and 3.

Whoaaah, dude, I was about to say that was a pretty good hedge because I assumed that fight was a 3-rounder, but that's a 5-rounder. Good loving luck on that one going to a decision. On top of that, Barnett's been out for drat near two years so I'm not entirely sold on him as a lock in the first place.

But everyone here loses money on 'smart' bets so gently caress it, go for it.

Last week I hit Green Valley Ranch sports book and was told I couldn't bet on the fight night card due to the Freitas owning both the ufc and station casinos. Is that a NV law or just company policy?

Probably just policy? Pretty standard stuff though. Don't poo poo where you eat, etc.

he looked good in metamoris, and he's a tough matchup stylistically for nelson. mind you i also thought he was a good bet at -180 against browne

yep. If McGregor is under -200 by the time the fight rolls around I'm going to bet on him but if Aldo climbs pass 2:1 though then I'm going to jump on those odds.

Also why in the hell did Story have to pull out of the Erick Silva fight cause now I don't have anybody to bet on next weekend. Magny could theoretically do the same thing Story was going to do except Magny will be coming off an 11 week fight camp or whatever and the last three opponents who have fought Erick Silva on short notice got finished in under a round.

Barnett by submission is at +480. In a five-rounder, I think it might be the most likely result.

So centrebet has emailed me an offer where if I deposit $20 dollars they will give me 4 x $20 bonus bets.

I assume they have somehow linked my post history here to my account there.

So thinking of betting all dogs on the next main card without even looking at them really. Thoughts?

Edit - actually I just looked at the card and goddamn some of those fights are mismatches.

eh, if you're gonna bet on dogs stick to just Mir and Dodson. Those ones you can make a case for how they could win and Dodson especially should be given more respect than 4:1 dog.

Mir is the best bet ever because he's the underdog in almost every match and still wins like 60% of the time

4:1 is about right for me to throw a few bucks down but not by much. i fully expect mm to own dodson convincingly

I expect MMDJ to win but I'm not sure where Dodson is at. He could have lost a step since the ACL injury and then Mighty Mouse will mop the floor with him, or that was just a ring rust type fight and isn't indicative of how he'll show up next weekend. If he comes out like he did in the 1st match then DJ is going to have another 25 minutes of a tough, game opponent in front of him. That's more than you get out of most underdogs that big.

Marching Powder

that 4:1 assumes dodson comes out as good as he did last time. i honestly think mm has gotten a shitload better than where he was at in his first match. if dodson really has lost a step like his last match would indicate, then, poo poo. no chance at all.

Even with the abbreviated camp? That's crazy.

I kind of wish Aldo didn't get comfortable when he competes because people weirdly underestimate how good he is because of the performances against like Hominick and Lamas

He didn't have a bad performance against Hominick because he "got comfortable", he had a bad performance because he had a lovely weight cut.

Hominick also made him work a lot more in the stand up than he was used to and Aldo used more offensive wrestling than usual which probably contributed.

10 bucks on Struve at -135 (Rosholt is trash and I'm not sure why this fight has near even odds)
1 buck on Letourneau at +950 (Joanna loving owns but I don't think she deserves Rousey odds yet)
1 buck on Uriah Hall at -140 because I want to piss away my loonies.

Big money, folks.

I've got Joanna to win by KO at -200. Considered Rousey by sub in the first at even money, but RR is probably due a freak injury so I'll stay away.

my betting site has a parlay special - do a four-leg parlay and if you only get three you get your money back. with ronda and joanna on the card, that means only one of my actual picks has to come off to at least not lose. haven't decided what i'm doing yet though.

I could see Holm pulling a Greg Jackson strategy and tepidly losing a round or two before getting finished by trying to fight from the outside/blatantly running away, but it's pretty hard to bet on anything except Ronda by first round sub.

It's going to be another seven or eight years before the odds have someone as such an underdog. I remember Serra broke sports books and there weren't any good handicaps for a while.

$25 on a Cejuda-Lamas-Magny multibet that pays out $115. I am hyper aware that the last time I tried to make bank on the M A G N Y streak he got drowned by Maia so this money is already down the toilet.

Also $5 on four upsets combined to pay out $725; Alejandro Perez, Formiga, Diego Sanchez & Magny.
