Kelly is just as scummy and soulless as the rest of that channel and will probably put up with whatever she's required to if she keeps getting paid.

Fox News made a big error today in describing Yazidis as Christian. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/08/12/yazidi-refugees-flee-isis-but-find-door-to-us-asylum-closed/?intcmp=hpbt1 The article, linked above, has since been corrected to include the statement "The Yazidi religion includes elements of ancient nature-worship, as well as influences from Christianity, Gnosticism, Zoroastrianism, Islam and Judaism." But up until an hour ago, contained several references that openly described them as Christian or included them grouped categorically with Christians. Oddly, the article itself has a corrected first paragraph, describing Yazidis as "the historic religious enclave", but the Fox News' front page still has the sub headline "the historic Christian enclave". And, of course, neither the article nor the journalist's Twitter has language that indicates that anything has been changed since initial publishing. Strange poo poo. Does Fox not think their viewers can see a people as sympathetic unless they're Christian?

William Bear posted:Fox News made a big error today in describing Yazidis as Christian. What probably happened is that they hosed up by mixing up the Yazidis with the various Assyrian Christian groups/militias also located in Northern Iraq (and Syria): The Yazidis live/lived in the area around Sinjar/Mt. Sinjar prior to ISIL attempting to literally genocide them, when the Yazidis had to flee to the rest of Iraqi Kurdistan. The Assyrian Christians live/lived in the Ninevah Plains region prior to ISIL attempting to kill them as well, and they also had to flee/fall back to Iraqi Kurdistan. It's actually rather insulting to call the Yazidis Christian, because their (non-Christian) belief system is part of the reason ISIL is trying to murder them in the first place: quote:Because of this connection to the Sufi Iblis tradition, some followers of other monotheistic religions of the region equate the Peacock Angel with their own unredeemed evil spirit Satan, which has incited centuries of persecution of the Yazidis as "devil worshippers."

Btw, did any news outlet other than the Rachel Maddow show point out that Megyn Kelly claimed during the 2nd debate that Fiorina "opened a can of whoop rear end" on all the other debating opponents, followed by knowing guffaws by the other moderators? Now there's some unbiased journalism right there.

Hard to really care about that when it's occurring during a primary debate where a cable news channel picked and chose which candidates were worthy, hosted it, had candidates buying commercial time on their channel to get in, the deployed questions that were nakedly slanted to kneecap some and elevate others, etc. I mean yeah it's biased but it's sitting on an asteroid made of bias.

Couple of questions, Why are a good portion of baby boomers racist? Why are they so akin to believing fwd:fwd:fwd myths about the president implying that he's some sort of secret muslim/kenyan, without doing research? Why do they hate government programs such as welfare, and say..NPR, yet seem so willing to support an increase in the military industrial complex? Why are they against their tax dollars being used towards public education? Just some very basic trends I'm noticing on local talk radio.
