Also last time I played a game with Ecco they were a conspicuous scum player who got mad at being cased for the wrong reasons. Then after the game ended they blamed their scum buddies for the loss. Ecco strikes me as more of a town player though

Sometimes I'm a good mafia player and sometimes I just don't give a poo poo. I feel bad about those times but sometimes for whatever reason a game just doesn't click with me and I find my eyes glazing over reading posts.

Also yeah while I do consider our downfall to be primarily ecco's fault, I don't think she was being mean post-game. I was the one who was mad in that situation.

Ah my mistake. On a related note I wish I didn't always spread myself too thin while playing mafia because it leads to dumb stuff like that game and the WIFOA one where I had the scum team picked out, was night killed and then town lost anyway E: I think I have one of the lowest win rates among active players

You had every right to be! I should have been more tactful with my comment. We all put in a lot of energy into that game and it was frustrating to see it slip through our fingers like that. It's also convince me to limit/eliminate cops in my games, since they just seem like such wildcards, and they just feel like they take away a lot of the spirit of the game.

I also would like to get back to the world of having games with one cop with a non-sane sanity, but they assume they are sane. If every fourth game had a naive cop and nothing else, that would be quite nice.

Different sanities is the absolute worst thing. Things that come from the mod should be taken as fact. There can be other roles that alter results like godfathers/millers or redirectors, but just natively having your cop be wrong is both boring and just the mod jerking the players around. I would rather have a Jester in my game than a non-sane cop.

I think if most players treated cops with more skepticism and treated their results as just "indicative but not dispositive," the game overall would be better. Players would rely less and less on following roles and more on player behavior. Roles are nice and fun but ultimately limit player agency, not expand it.
