You're welcome, I did have a full write up somewhere on this HDD for when I meant to get around to finishing my big thread on the Infinity forums, but by the time I finally found time to finishing writing it N3 hit and I'm not sure I will go back and finish it at this rate.

There's a chap that does Silhouette proxy markers for the Stingray TAGs on the Infinity forums and they're worth a download but with Silhouette Markers now being produced by multiple companies it's worth just using a silhouette marker for him to be honest. I think you've definitely picked the best 3 TAGs in the faction though, subjective as that may be. :)

What are the workhorse type units of vanilla CA? I really loved all the PanO knight guys, but it seems like only a few see play, and only 1-2 in a list. Not complaining, just had this idea the MO faction ran all knights which was wrong.

I have no idea. I don't know if it even came with it. That thing sat in my case with a fuzzy primer job for months before I got around to doing some light sanding, repriming, and painting it, and I don't remember ever having two spikes.

Yeah the workhorse of MO are basically the Order Sergeants lead by one or two Knights, it's a bit fluffy I guess but it definitely isn't Space Knights All The Time.

For CA I've had quite a bit of success with a variety of stuff so far but I have yet to play over 250pts with my CA. So far I've had great success from Unidron Batroids, Ko Dali, Skiavoros and especially the Umbra Legate so far.

In fact I think the Umbra Legate is the model I think most highly of after going into it unsure what to make of them.

A LFT to the face?

All kidding aside, I wish I could play against CA or something else. My LGS has had a few people pick up starters, but it's pretty much just my Yu Jing buddy, a once-in-a-blue-moon ALEPH player, and me. I'm going around 10-2 with the YJ bud (lost last night's game by victory points) and I think we could both use a change of pace.

One of the great joys of infinity is taking a flamethrower to a super-expensive or elite TO/ODD troop. Even better when a 2W or more model burns straight to dead, especially if your opponent went 'oh, I'll just take the hit and shoot, he'll be fine'.

Yeah one thing I'm quite fortunate of is that my club has a really diverse meta base but we are a bit top heavy on Ariadna and Nomads. Learning to deal with Camo is one of the first lessons people get here by necessity. We gave struggled to retain CA players over the years and the two we had both moved away, now me and one other vet have picked them up, with him playing Morats and it's really spiced it up.

Hey guys! I've been brainstorming two 200 point lists for my MO in preparation for an ITS-tournament this weekend but I'm having some trouble. I'd be grateful if anyone could take a look and give me some suggestions! There will be four different ITS missions that are more or less new to me (Seize the antennas, Transmission matrix, Lifeblood, Biotechvore), and I didn't realize how spoiled I've been by playing almost exclusively at 300 points..
My ability to slot in stuff not already in either list is sort of limited, I do have another drone, some knights of santiago, a teuton, joan and a father knight, but thats about it.

This first list was born as a response to Transmission matrix hating on all my beloved HI, have started to feel it might be good for most missions except for Biotechvore:

Military Orders
──────────────────────────────────────────────────

Group 1 10 0 0
BROTHER KONSTANTINOS Specialist (Infiltration) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Assault Pistol, CCW. (34)

I'm no ITS expert, but I believe 3 of those 4 missions require specialists. The 1st list has just about enough; the second absolutely doesn't. Is this a setup where you can choose one of the lists for each mission?

If that is the case, I'd rather bring 2 lists with enough specialists (maybe one TO heavy, to gently caress with MSV-less armies) than your current spread, where essentially you must use your first list in 3/4 games. I'd try working from a hospitaller doctor or a father-knight hacker, both good fighting specialists, with an order sgt link and another specialist or two. I feel like 200 is very cramped for a full magister link.

Not saying that's any better but it's how I'd do a list including specialists. Cheap link team (with the only model that can get into a cheap link as a specialist in MO) is a natural starting point. 2 more good specialists, and some cheap cheerleaders who can form a secondary link if it goes pete tong. Swapping the father-knight for a hospitaller doc, with a remote servant, would allow you to upgrade a fusilier to a specialist.

Thank you for the quick reply Genghis! Yes it's a format where you choose wich list to play for each scenario. My semi-coherent reasoning behind not taking a single specialist in the second list was a half-formed idea that it would be picked just for Biotechvore where no specialists are needed, but I do see your point about making sure both lists can be used for different missions. I really like your ideas and will keep pondering!

Got another 250pt game in today ready for our next its event and so far I'm pretty happy with my CA list, it's working pretty well and seems quite flexible so far. Did pretty well tonight on Sieze the Antenna, my buddy didn't really have an answer for me shoving up the table with Total Reaction REM and Unidron support and using hacking support to up their reaction fire. I eventually boxed him in with Ko Dali but the damage had been done at that point and he struggled to get back into the game late on turn two.

I got a 200pt game due tomorrow (yay being on leave for two weeks) which I am looking forward to as well, rocking double Umbra in that one to see how that works out for me.

Yeah Naffies I'd get ASAP, they're great models. I'd stall on the Maggie, do not buy it FOR ANY REASON.

Other considerations:
Djanbazan (if any I'd be tempted to get the Hacker sculpt because I think the others may be due a resculpt in the near future, dey is old. The Sniper is a bit of a classic though so if any I'd get that and proxy as appropriate.

Haqq Support Pack for filling out your ITS needs.

Ghulam SWC Box for filling out Ghulam options, a great buy if you're planning to eventually go sectorials for linkable goodness, but also gives you some good bodies for lower point games where Ghulams aren't a bad use for spending points and SWC on orders. Same goes for the REM box, although the Haqq REMs look old as gently caress now, I hope they get resculpted to be in line with the Kameel chassis.

Janissaires HMG is a good looking model to pick up and my buddy loves his and it makes it into a lot of his lists usually, but he really loves the model and he did an amazing paint job on it.

I think the Asawira is a good pick up over the Jannie actually, but I'm not super knowledgeable on HaqqIslam outside of Qapu Khalki which is a sect I do own, someone else on the forum would do a better job recommending here than I would.

You can do aggression with a variety of factions. Vanilla CA or Morats can get a lot of mileage out of Daturazi and Hungries, but they're far from the only faction with good warband access. Go with aesthetics first and mechanics second, because most factions can skew toward whatever direction you want (the main exception being Ariadna, since their gimmick is lacking access to high tech tools).

Pretty much. You could pick up the starter or the Ghulam specialist box and have a Ghulam doctor as well. Or run the Janissary from the starter (or the new Janissary box) as a Janissary doctor. Engineers or hackers are also nice, could proxy one of the Ghulams as a hacker.

I'm trying to find some models that are good as proxies for some Shrouded, I've got the chance of picking up Hasht for £4 tomorrow but I think his model sucks cock. I really love the Caliban sculpt so I'm hoping CA looks more like that in the future.

I am tempted to get a pair of Noctifiers and using them as Shrouded, I think their models are bad arse if a bit over-equipped. They're probably the Shas minis that will stand up the resculpt time though, so much of the range looks like dogshit.

It just says In Game. So I'm assuming that means whenever.

quote:

SECURE HVT
CLASSIFIED OBJECTIVE

When in game, the player can replace one of his Classified
Objectives with Secure HVT. This is an optional Classified
Objective all players can choose to replace one of the Classified
Objectives they rolled on the Classified Objectives Chart.

The Secure HVT optional Classified Objective is accomplished
when the player has one of his troopers (who is not in a Null
state) inside the Zone of Control of the enemy HVT and at the
same time, the Zone of Control of his own HVT is free of enemy
troops (Not counting those in a Null state).

The Secure HVT optional Classified Objective provides the
same number of Objective Points the scenario provides for
each normal Classified Objective accomplished.

Actually that's a bit surprising that the official decks don't have have a single copy of this objective card to be pulled aside before you shuffle them.
