logigun was one of the underrated hits of 2014, imo. it had some impressive puzzle design overall, and i think the story was very cute.

DKC1 is good but largely overrated in the grand scheme of things. It's like the first Jurassic Park film, it had its time and place and is hugely important historically but it's hard to revisit if you didn't play it at the time. DKC2 is everything good about the first game but expanded and made more challenging and is overall excellent, one of my favorite platformers of all time. DKC3 isn't bad but it's easily my least favorite, just kind really weird and gimmicky.

It's pretty clear that rare has made many decent and good games for two Nintendo systems and certainly contributed much more than many of Nintendo's current second party studio lineups.
