Cross-posting from the Q&A thread. Back in 2011, Mark Henry was a face on Raw who never really amounted to anything outside of an amusing ECW title run. It didn't look like he would ever amount to anything as he had been around for over a decade and never caught on in any meaningful way. On the draft episode of Raw, Henry was picked to go to Smackdown. Then he did this emotional backstage interview, where he discussed his weight loss and desire to finally win a world title. Later that night, he turned heel. A couple months later, he became one of the most entertaining personas in the last five years of WWE and got his wish. In retrospect, it's heartwarming as hell.
