Calling it now, the huge selloff to start was one last massive binge of insider trading from fuerdai poo poo heads who knew about the size and scope of today's pension fund bailout.

Just one last line up at the trough before escaping to Vancouver to launder your money. When the market implodes finally for real, you won't give two shits about some defrauded pensioners sleeping on cardboard back home, that's for sure.

Unless he's got a lot of close Chinese friends or family, he probably wouldn't hear anything from anyone besides taxi drivers blaming the US or Japan for it happening. That's also pretty unlikely because finding an empty cab is rare in Beijing.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange in China opens from 9:30am to 3:00pm local time.

They also take a lunch break, where trading is suspended, from 11:30am to 1:00pm local time.

So they're only open 4 hours a day?

And not even a continuous 4 hours, they need a 1.5 hour break in between their two 2 hour sessions?

But now, perhaps revolution will come sooner as well.

I think putting money on the CCP leaving power in the next decade or two at least is an even worse proposition than buying into the Shanghai Exchange right now. Death is certain, bad things happen to good people, etc. Sucks to be China I guess

SHANGHAI—Proving to be just as flimsy and precarious as many observers had previously warned, the Chinese-made Shanghai Composite index completely collapsed Monday, sources confirmed. “Sure, it looked fine from the outside, but anybody who saw it up close knew that it was of such poor quality that it wasn’t built to last,” said Allen Sigman of the London School of Economics, adding that the stock market, which he described as a crude knockoff of Western versions, was practically slapped together overnight and featured countless obvious structural weak points. “They pretty much ignored regulations, and inspections were a joke. The only surprise is that it didn’t fall apart sooner.” Sigman added that he just hopes there weren’t too many people who were hurt in the disaster.
