The solution to Indies breaking even is big publishers like ubisoft handling promotion, just like they are with Grow Home. Every big studio is going to have a indie division handling marketing costs soon.

is grow home an indie? that's not what i remember hearing about it
i thought grow home is owned by ubisoft because a few of their programmers did it on company time as a proof of concept for something that everybody said deserved to be polished up for release.

$20 if it's the same as Steam. So yeah I'll be waiting for the inevitable sale down the road.

For a little extra saltiness, Grow Home is only $8.

I think I got Grow Home on Steam for $2.50 last sale. People are stupid.

Does Armello have local MP? Can't find anything about it online.

Not all people that play games on their PS4 also play games on PC. Also, I assure you that someday in the not to distant future Armello will also be one sale on steam for $2.50 or lower.

I like when Sony announced this voting thing it was at least semi-jokingly said that people would go from bitching about the PS+ selection to bitching that their game didn't win. Now here we are. Look forward to this at the end of every month :suicide:

Also I'm glad Armello didn't win. It's not my type of game at all.

I don't expect the PS4 Plus games to get consistently good for another year or two. The beginning of PS Plus on PS3 was pretty bad, but then got super great as time went on.

I'm much less interested in getting new indie titles for free then I am in getting older, bigger games for free. Especially stuff like HD collections or remasters.

PSN's business model must really gently caress over some indie developers. People just ignore releases under the (sometimes correct) assumption that they will eventually be free. I even just buy games I want, but it does sort of devalue small digital only titles and make me hesitant to pay for them. Especially if the are over $15, which to me is the cap for instant impulse buy stuff.

i buy as many games on disc as i can these days because i know i'll be getting another copy down the line eventually. the last year of 360/ps3 give aways blew through huge chunks of those systems must own titles lists. 2019 or whenever is going to be a great year for ps+

I didn't get a PS3 until 5 years after it came out and it owned. Really great system. Glad I didn't get anywhere near it at launch.

I want to be all in on Until Dawn as I love horror, but I wish these type of games had more interactivity and exploration between choices you make. Like I want points where you make tough split second decisions but also get to explore solve puzzles and maybe even fight or evade some enemies. I am probably going to wait until october for halloween and hope I can find it for cheaper.

Welp, gone through 2 missions on Dishonored. The graphics are basically what I'd consider slightly tweaked ps3/360 graphics, and that's basically it. I wouldn't say this is a barn burner that you HAVE TO OWN because you owned the others.

Still, I don't regret dropping 20$ on it.

To be fair, they'd never be able to shut it down otherwise because some rear end in a top hat would always be in a TDM game. I decided to ride out the end of the beta myself, and it actually ran like an hour longer than I'd expected it to. It was fun while it lasted though. Still a bunch of dumb poo poo that I don't like about Call of Duty, but this has been a pleasant experience on the whole.

I was actually really enjoying the beta. Was playing it since Saturday. I haven't played a FPS since Halo 3 (all halos after that were trash) and MW3. I'm enjoying the fast pace of the gameplay and the specialist classes.

I'm thinking of pre-ordering it too.

I was thinking of pre-ordering too, then I played more of it and got tired of the beta before it was even over :( I really missed the movement from AW. I know this had different movement options and it couldn't be exactly the same thing, but it still left me kind of disappointed.

Dishonored didn't click for me when I first played it, because I found it incredibly hard to go about stealthing the game (since I can't knock out guards once they have seen me and I wasn't good at not being seen I guess) and I didn't want to NOT stealth the game because I knew you got a different ending for not murdering people and I wanted that one because those are usually the "better" ones.

But the world and setting really appeal to me and I want to get into the game, especially now that a sequel is forthcoming. I hope we get some reports on what the PS4 port is like, but if I do decide to get it, any advice to help smooth out the early moments of the game?

Yes, hi. I too always pick the good options and am generally absurdly altruistic in games because i feel guilty being mean to npc's like some sort of idiot.

Murder loving everyone in dishonored. The game is not meant to be stealthed really, and I have no idea why they even let you non-lethally deal with people because it's loving boring as hell. The lethal options outnumber the nonlethal ones like 7 to 1. And frankly, the high chaos ending is better than the low chaos one, at least in terms of being a cool rear end set piece and getting more in game lore and whatnot.

Dishonored has arguably the best (or at least my favorite) system of morality by not influencing your powers or character or mood or whatever between whether you kill kittens or save them from trees, but rather influencing the world. You're an assassin, and you're going to estates and factories and poo poo and exterminating large swaths of the city's population. The fact that this had gameplay repercussions was awesome, and the increasing paranoia of Dunwall was just a really intelligent manifestation.

It makes me want to play Dishonored again.
