I'm super glad I bought up Vmvfx because it has "minimum volatility" right in the name it must be super safe.

The only green investment I have is my little bond fund and VHT that I managed to snag super cheap yesterday.

AAPL didn't do as well as some of the other players. Facebook and Starbucks are better returns.

One of my professors used to share a story about a client who would only invest in lion-related stocks or funds. Must have a lion or other big cat in the logo.

I assume it's the downgrade as much as the general market trend but I honestly can't parse this article. It's downgraded due to being down? What's this about a margin call? What is meant by "GP status"?

I don't think it is much of a joke. You have a lot of market cap between those companies. If they are all up 3-5%, they can mask a lot of weakness with the rest of the index.

I might have hosed up my quick math, but if those 7 stocks are up 5%, the bottom 20 S&P 500 companies can go bankrupt and that 27 stock index would be up for the day.

Or what I think is more likely happening now, a good portion of the S&P 500 is only up 2-3% while the broader index is up 4% because of a dozen hot companies. That's kind of my point, this isn't a broad rally. Much of the gains are being focused in one sector on a select group of companies.
