I am doing the British medium and heavy lines concurrently. Currently in the tier 6s - should I try to get ahead in one of them?

Get ahead in the mediums so you have stuff unlocked for the heavies. On the same subject, I just bought a Churchill I. So I guess I'm doing British heavies too. I never wanted it to be this way. The sale was just too enticing.

The 20pdr on the cent7 is not a horrible grind. Decent pen and rof. I even got an ace tanker using it. Then I freexpd the L7 and regretted nothing. Also just bought the conq and freexpd gun, turret and tracks since I am currently a welfare queen ( socialism rocks ). You need tracks in order to fit turret and gun, at least if you want rammer, optics and vstab. Feels rather comfortable sofar. Notes. Got into a tier10 game on lakeville north with my T34 with no arty. Since my team were not hideously red I went valley ( since once in a lifetime ) and promptly encountered a red e100 that kept showing me his lower front plate and promptly got splattered. Been running the common test to check out the new t110e5 and the Japanese heavies. The cupola of the E5 seems to be buffed on test and the jap tier 10 is more comfortable to drive than a Maus. Heat shells go through the flat lower plate though. Also, why is the fv4202 considered bad? I ran it on test and it is pretty comfortable with good gun, depression and rof.

As for weak turret, with the exception of Russian mediums, aren't most turrets on tier10 mediums rather weak? HESH was btw hilarious versus BatChats on test.

It does a lot of things right and it was buffed recently to give it D that isn't the worst in its tier anymore. But it's slow, has pretty poor gun handling compared to other t10 meds, a lovely turret that's worse than the good but unreliable Cent turret, and the lack of a decent premium round is the biggest thing. I really like playing it and I do well in it but it is not competitive.

I hate this game but am still probably going to get back into it when Japanese heavy tanks come out because I am addicted to 100+ ton superheavy tanks. edit: On the bright side I can stop at tier 5 once I get the first O-I (or whichever one's the tier 5) and just play at Good Tiers as opposed to bashing my head in at tier 8, also I can use my lovely old sealclubbing alt so that I can pretend it's like a fresh start Ferrovanadium fucked around with this message at 19:17 on Aug 28, 2015 |

Cardiac posted:Eh, doesn't most Tier10 mediums use APCR most of the time anyways? 95% of the time yes, APCR is what you use. When you're shooting at big flat surfaces though, like german box tanks and soon the japanese, I like having the option of HEAT because you don't have to be as picky about waiting for the correct angling and stuff. As far as the turret, the 4202 is the only tier 10 I go out of the way to shoot in the turret, because it'll pen every time.

I have it in garage and is currently grinding a crew in my Cromwell to get sixth sense before playing it. But I tried it on test, and it feels rather comfortable to drive. Being competitive is only interesting for CW ie I don't give a poo poo. Also, I have found a way to distinguish pubbies that use the 9 XVM color scheme from Wotlabs. All of them fire gold at me, since I am blue in that color scheme and green in the more modest (less Dunning-Kruger) 6 color scheme. The amount of gold shells my Sherman3, CDC, arties or ChiRi have eaten from 50-51% players is getting rather high.

I mean competitive as in it can't keep up with the other mediums. It is inferior even if its strengths match up with the strengths I want from a medium. As an overall package it's just not as good as, say, the 50M. I don't know much about the current Patton so I don't know how it stacks up against its most similar competition.

Does Jimbo's crosshair mod make use of the server side reticle if you have "enable server reticle" checked in your settings? Or do you have to use the default reticle(s) to make use of the server side crosshairs?
|
# ? Aug 28, 2015 20:57 |

I'm reasonably certain that J1mb0's works like the default crosshairs in that it shows the server side reticle instead of the client side reticle if you have "enable server reticle" checked in your settings. It definitely does not show both the server and client side reticles at the same time. You need a different mod for that.

ZombieLenin posted:Plus, the reality is that the vast majority of the pubbies in random battles, which is all I play, have no mods at all installed. So it isn't the mods "holding me down." This whole argument has been retarded but if you run xvm it will tell you who *else* is running xvm, and generally most people do.

Getting the E-25 while you already own one will give you 2.67 million credits, which is fine enough if the grind isn't ludicrous like the A45 one was. I hope they give out the Minimaus as one of the ancient weapons. I'd be super disappointed if they just give away the T1E6/LTP/T7CC/VIC, AKA old holiday tanks, for the thousandth time.
