So what about Wedge and Wes with Horton instead of Luke?

I like Luke and X-wings, but Horton with TLT really helps with the arc-dodgers and just all around consistent damage.

I honestly don't know whether I'd go with:

Wedge + Opportunist + R2, Wes + VI, and Horton + TLT + the EPT Astro + VI

or

pretty much the same thing except Wedge has Predator and Proton Torps.

Wedge with Predator and Proton torps has been pretty awesome lately.

Nope, possibly the same actor, but different helmet. Different dub voice too I think (all the pilots got dubbed over, including a woman dubbed over by a man, hah).

Telsij: 2:12 Hazard strip on helmet forehead.
"I'm Hit!" guy: 4:29 Bat icon on helmet chin.
Lady pilot (gets wasted by Squints): 2:32

[edit]There were also a number of pilots who may or may not have survived Endor, but didn't survive editing and the cuttingroom floor, including a Mon Calamari B-Wing pilot and this elderly badass A-Wing pilot:

"It's a non-speaking role"
Note to self: Stop putting backstabbers (guys with outmanuver) by themselves. Bad habit. :( Tonight was the second time I did this.

The game I played tonight was a bit of a nail biter. I made some big mistakes at the beginning (see above).

I was running a rebel XXB with Luke, Wedge and Keyan Farlander. My opponent was using two TIE, a Interceptor and the phantom (of course, she loves that phantom). I believe Dark Beast, Mauler Mithril and Echo (who is pretty scary being able to 2 turn when decloaking instead of using 2 straight)

We traded shots, and I lost Luke with Wedge barely hanging on with 1 shot. At the same time killed a TIE and then I one-shot killed a phantom. We both had badly damage units, the only unit without damage I think was the phantom who had lost both its shields. I then killed in a single shot the phantom (not really expecting it to go down until after the tie was finished off).

My favorite thing was Echo doing a complete circle, ending up in the same spot as the start of the maneuver, just facing a different direction. :aaaaa:

I said before in this thread how I don't understand how to use the phantom's cloak. My opponent doesn't have that problem as much. She used it pretty well.

I also noticed when I came in (but didn't notice until I bought a new figure and some paint) that wave 7 had arrived at my shop. The hound's tooth looks really cool, and is one more temptation towards collecting the scum faction. Also, the K-wing, which I really like and want to get in the near future.

Isn't Biggs' power that you have to shoot him if he's within Range 1 of a friendly and you can shoot him, while Theoretical Telsij's power is he can't be shot if he's within range 1 of a friendly and you can shoot that friendly?

I don't see the conflict, but I'm also running on about 4 hours of sleep.

Or PS5, 22 points, no EPT.

I would be down for a TIE with a rear facing firing arch, I am sure everyone would see that as totally fair given the standard maneuverability of most imperial ships.

I'm guessing imperials won't ever get a small base turret slot (at least not one with EPT) because of ruthlessness. Although a buff big ship with a turret and crew slot could replace the doomshuttle.

Imperials don't even have a ship with a turret slot yet, let alone something with a native turret primary.

Edit: Yet being a strong word, I doubt we will see one with a turret honestly.

This is really cool.

I got to play today! Got two games in after I picked up my Wave 7 stuff, went 1-1. First game was me loving around with Redline + Deathtrain and a TIE Bomber, which I conceded after it became apparent that I could drag things out but with Deathtrain out of mines and suffering some crits and Redline on his way out (the Bomber was, of course, dead) or I could play a second game, and I chose the latter. The highlight of the game was me swooping up to Chewie in the Falcon with Deathtrain and unloading a perfectly placed Cluster Mine, hitting with all three tokens and rolling six dice...not a one of which came up as a hit :negative:

Second game was a revamped Redline along with Soontir Fel and Tetran Cowall as escorts against my opponent's TLT K-Wing and Chewie. Tetran died like a chump early on but this time Redline earned his points by ripping apart over half of Chewie's hitpoints courtesy of a two volleys of Cluster Missiles. Redline + Cluster Missiles + Fire Control System is pretty good. And Soontir Fel, as per usual, made it all the way to the end virtually unscathed, having taken a single hitpoint from a TLT before blowing the K-Wing out of the sky.

Played another game tonight. Firespray with Keth and three TIEs for my buddy, two X-wings and a B-wing for me, including Luke and upgrades all around. Came down to the wire, his PS7 TIE against my PS8 Luke. We kept circle around each other until he made a wrong turn and ended up in my sights. Range 1 + Marksmanship + Target Lock, boom. This game is fun.

Is there any reason you can't play Empire vs Empire or similar?

Yeah, X-Wing follows the same sort of rules that Warmachine does where you can have same faction matchups and both players can even field the same unique pilots/upgrades against each other, it's completely cool.

Even though Lightning Reflexes is a one-and-done card I really want to try it with Talonbane Cobra, both because A). his name is so incredibly dorky that getting to kill someone's ships using a dude named Talonbane Cobra is its own reward but also B). because already being PS9 means I don't need to worry as much about "do I need VI on this dude" and the possibility of pulling off even a one-use 1-hard S-loop is a pretty useful ace to play when it counts.

My traditional go-to Scum list has been Kavil with the fixin's plus Palob because Palob makes people freak out like no other, and from there I've always filled the rest of the points with someone like Drea Renthal or, on occasion, a Star Viper, but checking the points shows me that I could fit Talonbane into the list just fine without needing to drop anything important on the other two, plus Lightning Reflexes, Glitterstim, and a Stealth Device. I'm eager to give this a try next time I get to play.

I'm not as sure about TLT on Kavil though...yeah it's a turret you can snipe with but that also leaves a dead zone inside range 1 for people to exploit, and based on past performance I feel like the usual 4 dice + TL Blaster Turret attacks dish out heavier hits on average than the two max the TLT puts out. I am however considering putting the TLT on Palob because that gives me a way to punish people who spend their time hanging out at range 3 of him to keep away from his ability. Of course if anyone closes the gap then he's more hosed than a HWK usually is, but oh well.

Got to play two games of xwang tonight (my second and third, respectively, after my semi-disastrous game against twin Aggressors when neither of us were solid on the rules so double-boost-double-evade made things miserable)

Game 1 was one of my doofy Oicunn Ramming Speed gimmick lists I cobbled up awhile back:
code:
Captain Oicunn (50)
Decimator(42), Veteran Instincts (1), Navigator (3), "Dauntless" (2), Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

Royal Guard Pilot (25) x 2
TIE Interceptor (22), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1)
My opponent had Fat Han + 3 basic Headhunters

I proceeded to immediately forget how Autothrusters worked, bumbled into asteroids, and had both TIEs shot off the field by turn 2. Oicunn proceeded to merrily ram and shoot two headhunters off the field before exploding.

Game 2 was against a different friend who had just bought two TIE Punishers and wanted to test them out, so I pulled out the one Rebel list I had written down, a goon-made XXX list:

Irom posted:

Wes Janson (29)

Wedge Antilles (29)
R2 Astromech (1)

Luke Skywalker (28)

Lone Wolf (2)
Stealth Device (3)

Total: 99
vs two Punishers, The front-bomb one kitted out with Munitions, cluster mines, proton bombs, and the two-target-lock one with a collection of torpedos and missiles and stuff I didn't look closely. Also one Academy Pilot to round things out. He went first, moved his guys up. I sent everyone up, Wes was able to clip the Academy Pilot. Turn 2, Missile-Punisher gets locks, Bomb-Punisher shoves a cluster mine out, Wes+Wedge proceed to beat the tar out of Bomb-Punisher, leaving it at 2 hull with PS 0 and inability to use most actions. Wedge gets shot up, Luke clips some shields off Missile-Punisher. T3, bomber-punisher drops a proton bomb under Wedge and moves so Wedge ends up ramming it and setting off the bomb, which kills Wedge and the Bomber (double damage crit on the latter). Luke and Wes finish off the other Punisher and a turn or two of TIE-chasing later, it was over. I think that (with rerolls) I rolled something like 90% or greater hits/crits on my red dice, it was nonsensical.

I may have played DMX on my phone during the match (X gon' give it to ya, after all).

Next time both friends with models shows up, I'm going to borrow two Lambda shuttles to run the even doofier ramming gimmick list of Double Ion Shuttles + Ramming Punisher bumper car list :buddy:
