A bit weird that there's two repeats when we haven't yet seen Arowana Mall or New Urchin Underpass in a Splatfest yet.

As a Deceptinkon it looks even and fast, but I'm also losing almost every single match.

I don't know what the gently caress is going on but I'm on team decepticon and out of like 10 matches I've had so far, every single one has been an autobot stomp. Like not one has even been close, they've been mopping the loving floor with us. I just look at the map and see it change their color in loving hyperspeed, right before 5 inkstrikes explode all around me and I get hit by an aerospray from half a mile away. I haven't been playing much but I know I don't suck this much, what in the actual gently caress is going on.Manoueverable posted:I am getting blown the gently caress out in some of these matches good lord Okay, so it's not just me then?

Rest of the team didn't score a single kill, and we lost 73-9%.

Had a few rough matches, then landed with a team that clicked and we rode a 15 game win streak to Champion. Would go for King, but I can't spare the time today unfortunately. E: I'm on decepticons, haven't noticed any particular rise in difficulty. If anything, I'm tending to get easy matches.

Got up to Deception Defender. Definitely had far more blowouts ourselves. The only map I've really been having trouble on is Port Mackerel. I just haven't played that one on Turf War much, if at all.

Got paired up with a two awesome decepticon players and climbed up to Decepticon Champion together. I think the only match we lost was on the port level where I suspect the 4th person dropped out and then even then it was really close. In particular we were untouchable on the Flounder Heights. Typically we'd rush forward and within a minute have the other team confined to the back third or so of the stage. From there they could usually completely lock the enemy down while I filled in areas we missed and cleaned up rogue inkstrikes while supporting them with my own.

Have yet to get blown out in a match, our team managed to inflict the same on the other team once or twice though. This rotation makes it difficult for blowouts to happen in generals

Had mostly good matches as Decepticons, then got destroyed at the port by two snipers placed in the usual spot who would just kill you the instant you passed them. That's a lot of fun on this map. Then I turn around and the entire other end of the map is the enemies color chock full of those guys who just sit in the ink with rollers and wait... and now I disconnect after every match. Guess Im done for tonight.

Made it to decepticon champion. I think I've had more wins than losses, but I wasn't really counting. Made it all the way to so hawt twice, but the last few matches I was in a losing streak that dropped me back to toasty before I finally won the match that got me from defender to champ. Had a couple of bad matches that I don't know how the gently caress we lost and one team on port that could not stop one kraken roller from rolling around our spawn for love or money. All that seems par for the course to me. vv I honestly think its pretty even, skill wise. Popularity wise, I don't know. Connection's been pretty stable tonight. Far more stable than it usually is for a splatfest. e: I am so glad this game doesn't have voice chat. Cialis Railman fucked around with this message at 07:25 on Aug 29, 2015 |

Calling it a night after getting 22 points into Defender. Had about three defeats there but most of the time it was pretty much on our favor. One match tho the autobots were outplaying us in every turn at Port Mackerel, trashing us all over until the last thirty seconds when I respawned and unleashed my bucket on those fools, got a quad kill, we painted everything as fast as possible and I topped it off with an inkstrike so we won by 4%

Got up to Decepticon Defender pretty quickly, and won the majority of the matches I was in, I was actually assuming my experience was the norm. I started losing more matches as it got later though, I guess because the nostalgic manchildren were coming out to rep team Autobot.

ive been rollin with an okay crew for a few matches now and we mostly do fine but every once in a while, and just about every match back when the fest first started, we get curbstomped by teams composed of like upper-30 - mid-40 level dudes who are unstoppable murdermachine got to champion but i think im callin it for this splatfest because i dont care about the robots and ive got plenty of snails already stay fresh

Almost got to Decepticon Defender without losing a single match. The last match we got absolutely destroyed. Still, that's a lot of wins and one loss for team Purple Marie Waspinator

I wish I had the team some of you guys do, I keep getting matched up with a bunch of assholes who use rollers but refuse to push, even when I wipe out the competition with my Blaster. I have no idea what they're doing because they're clearly not maintaining the ground we have.

I love all the art in my plaza. All the autobot art is just different people writing "remember have fun" (and one good drawing of optimus) and the decepticon art is all horribly mangled megatrons and those little box cars kids draw. Did a few matches but all of them were pretty heavy Decepticon stomps but started getting connection errors so that's cool

The Bamboozler is also way stronger than I was expecting. Its most powerful mechanic is the fact that it shoots at maximum range regardless of charge, which makes the "two shots to kill" problem basically a non-issue. A full charge does somewhere around 80-90 damage, enough to finish the opponent off with a single uncharged blast. And since uncharged blasts have full range on the Bamboozler, you can basically just land one shot then mash the fire button until they die. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it gets a nerf because in its current state, it pretty much obsoletes the Squiffers.

I might have to try it out again after splatfest. I REALLY wanted to like it, but always in the back of my head was the "2-shot-kill" thing, and I had a bad time with it.

Best part of splat fest is when a great team gets put together. Played for autobots, learned to step away from my Krakon roller and play carbon roller, and had a great time. Turf wars is pretty great against good competition.

How is the Autobot matching? I hadn't matched against a fellow Decepticon to Champion. I know people have trouble but, once again, the connections seem better during a Splatfest to me. I did see the laggiest guy I've ever seen (which was downright scary with a Carbon Roller as I literally couldn't even follow him), but it was obviously just the guy. Though I personally didn't try it or see any, people seem to like the new Nozzlenose D. A Burst Bomb and a shot will like kill anything and has more accuracy then the Gals (Kracken might be too singularly aggressive but whatever). I hadn't played in a bit so was surprised to see people using bombs so much better!

Made it Autobot Queen. Had a amazing run with a great team and I was so sad to see them go because I then was just winning/losing rather than winning. I got all the way to 17.5 point streak. The team I had was amazing, some teams managed to fight back but we always won and we had some absolutely amazing blowout wins. The best one was when we managed to hold the other team right in their base in port mackeral and even had their top side areas covered with our ink. I do have one question though. I didn't see it happen during splatfest, but it happened a little bit before while I was playing turf wars. Is there a huge trolling community for this game? Wednesday I ran into a guy that would follow behind me and start to try to ink whatever I was. First I thought he was mad I went to the area he wanted so I zipped out but he kept on following and did this for a good minute before he buggered off. Today my whole team sat at our spawn point for a minute and a half jumping around and killing themselves before they started playing. If I'm going to run into more of that I might put the brakes on this game because that poo poo is not fun.

Made it to Decepticon Queen. At one point I got matched up with a team of three other rollers and we just smashed through the Autobots for ten matches straight before I got a connection error during matchmaking and had to get a new team. Later I ran into the same thing... for the Autobot side, it wasn't very fun for us.

I'm quietly resigning myself to the fact that I will not be able to partake in Splatfest this weekend due to whatever the hell this connection issue is. Go, Team Dancing. Do me proud. My only regret is that I won't be able to use the Obligatory Referential Funny Thing I drew, so I'll post it here instead.

Kind of disappointed in the maps for this Splatfest. It's the first time NA hasn't followed the Japanese map set right? And I was so looking forward to kelp dome and the warehouse! And definitely not expecting port mackerel, aka the worst map in the game. Oh well, I did make it up to Decepticon Champion a lot faster than the last Splatfest and had a few fantastic squads. The worst match of the night was against a hyper aggressive Autobot team on Port Mackerel where they just slammed us into our spawn and held us there thus reaffirming my dislike of the map. Saltspray Rig is really picking up the slack and being thoroughly enjoyable to play and I only lost one match on it last night. This Splafest has me feeling a lot less invested than the hotdog wars.
