The 980ti is actually relatively good price to performance. It is twice as fast and twice as expensive as the sweet spot 970. Whether or not it is overkill depends on what you're doing with it of course.

Also I'm guessing he got it to play more intensive games than COD at 1440p (that's like four xbone resolutions)

Exactly, COD was never on my radar as a game I would ever want to play until I had fun in the demo.

With current cable technology you can only do 4K at 60fps, but you can do 1440p at 144fps. The smoothness weighs out the sharpness of 4K for games like COD imo.

Part of the fun of a new COD to me has always been learning the new weapons and perks and stuff so I'm trying to avoid getting too into that stuff until the full game comes out. It runs pretty well on my PC so I know I'm gonna buy it.

The Warmachine nerf is really dumb, it was never overpowered to begin with and I only average around 3 kills each time I used it.
