I take back everything bad I said about the bamboozler. You don't even need to charge it if you have decent aim, just spam the gently caress out of it. It needs burst bombs or something though.

I fought against a guy on flounder who was using a bamboozler and had damage up in every primary ability slot, and it sure seemed like he was one-shotting me. I tend not to pay attention to my health until I get splatted, though.

If you land a fully-charged shot, a second totally uncharged shot can be fired instantly, and that's enough to finish the other player off. Those double-taps might be why you felt like you were getting one-shotted.

The biggest issue with the Bamboozler is that it doesn't have the satisfying glass-shattering sound effect when you nail someone with it.

Mario vs Link is more classic gaming rivalry, while Mario vs Luigi is just a sibling rivalry, and more a younger generations rivalry (in my opinion, most people didn't start repping Luigi until 1st Gen Smash Bros)

Ended up third on my team, outshooting a guy with a dual squelcher. It helped that my team was real good while the other side was...not.

I dunno, I don't see why people care about either of the generic voiceless protagonist dudes who front their respective franchises. Though choosing based on franchise quality would be hard. That's why a Luigi option is personally more appealing.

I feel like Mario vs anyone else would result in a huge popularity loss for Mario. You wouldn't vote for Mario in a Splatfest for the same reason you wouldn't play him in Smash, he's the most boring possible option. Except Mario vs Sonic which is a clear Mario win

I'm pretty sure that enemy ink cannot kill on its own, it just brings you down to about half health. If they enter enemy ink and then you sit them, that'd work even with add unlikely as it is.
