I'm up to the third LN and so far most of the really bad stuff is only mentioned in internal dialogue so that was easy enough for them to ignore when making the anime. I really have no clue how bad things get in the later volumes though.

Chaika had a slightly odd emphasis on "classes" like "saboteur" or "wizardo", like they were roles imposed on the characters by society, and the characters wanted to break free of these conventions. Unfortunately, they never really did anything with it. Rokka's a pretty good show, with a cool aesthetic design and an unconventional plot structure. It starts off as a conventional fantasy story about killing the Demon Lord, and then it turns into a game of werewolf. Also the antagonists society looming over the characters is intriguingly intelligent. And I think Snow White with Red Hair is better than Yona.

i beat my first atelier game (rorona) recently and loved everything but the combat system which is standard jrpg boredom and the fact that some of my flags glitched on me, locking me out of a few endings
