That's good blade containment right there. Everyone in the fuselage next to the engine lived! VVVVV Uh, crap. Here's a picture of the 747 being assembled, an aircraft that can land with only one of its four engines and has a literally perfect safety record - no 747 has ever crashed because of mechanical failure: This is political becaaaause since the 777 Boeing has designed aircraft entirely in CAD programs, putting good hardworking drafters and model builders out of work. Good lord. Three former treasury secretaries (and bankers) joking over creating income inequality. Hank Paulson and Robert Rubin. Not pictured, Timmy "2011 is the Summer of the Recovery" Geithner, to the left, also laughing. I wonder what made the artist draw tan lines on the closest one. Force of habit? Actual Vietnamese women supposedly training for the Viet Cong.

SS St. Louis. Passengers thought they bought admittance to Cuba, but Cuba ended up denying them entry. The US also denied them entry, and anyone who jumped off the boat and tried to swim to the US was picked up by the coast guard and brought back to the ship. The current narrative regarding middle eastern refugees is really sad and eerily similar to the narrative of how the world treated jews during world war 2, down to the refrain of "we must end the war to help them" as an excuse to not take in any refugees. I heard a state department official on NPR the other day talking about Syrian refugees and it was just really sad to hear.

"One of the letters I remember reading even says something along the lines of, 'you know, Hitler's house is far more tasteful than Roosevelt's.' So the response was really surprising. American readers did not appreciate the magazine making fun of Hitler's taste."
