People have been sharing that "Red Peak" flag a lot on my facebook and while I appreciate that they put a lot more thought into the design than any of the finalists did, it is a really, really ugly flag. Like honestly guys. If it was just red white and black it might work. Still feels pretty stiff and meaningless though. Red Peak blows. There's too much white. Like it's a huge, in-your-face amount of white that renders the meaning of the red peak kind of irrelevant. As a piece of social commentary it's OK I guess but it's not as great as a flag as some people make it out to be. Now the Swanny on the other hand...

It's one of the things that bothers me about it - the red triangle is too drat small. It also only feels like an acceptable flag in comparison to the 4 alternatives offered.

In Norway's flag the white is a stroke, to differentiate the blue & red. For red peak it's its own graphic element, representing mountains while the red represents the earth.
