at the date posted:let's pile on shitloads of postprocessing until we achieve photorealism the game definitely can go overboard with ~visual fx~ but it keeps a solid framerate and there's always a spectacle to watch. it's a good game.

it's kinda cool how they laid out the level info in SMB's ROM, since the program had to fit on 2x16KB. each item in the game world is exactly one byte, with different bits corresponding to different attributes and locations, all laid out in the game's assembly code iirc, the background stuff was procedural, and not laid out ahead of time like items and enemies were

mgsv's stealth reminds me a little of alien isolation, in that you're moving quickly between cover and using various gadgets to gently caress dudes up instead of just waiting around

Also, D-Dog please stop jumping in front of my stun arm, running back to sniff the C4 I plant, running into the rocket barrages from support choppers, and generally getting blown up all the time. oh yeah may want to start paying attention to drop points Oh, I'll do this Destroy The Tank Unit side op. *picks whatever drop point comes up first, turns out its literally right on top of the tank unit* *Gets dropped off, tank unit immediately lights up the chopper* Peaquad: Waararrgghhhh~ *explodes* I still fultoned the tank out and killed/fultoned the rest of the unit but that kinda wiped out my profits

I'm up to just before the bee mission. So far it's plant c4 on something, run around to the other side of the base, set off explosives, sneak in while everyone is investigating the explosion. Then take so long faffing about inside that everyone is back in their positions and I have to punch my way out. Also throwing empty magazines around yelling 'GO loving INVESTIGATE IT FFFFFF'
