Key is once again claiming it's the Left that don't want to help out, ignoring how NZ is basically split down the middle on the decision according to 3News polls.

Media lap it up, no questions asked. Sucks when the narrative gets ignored and any updates stand alone as a new news piece; it has been Key saying we won't send any troops, then talking about 'paying the price' of being in the club followed by UK saying we're family and have to help and now Key claiming it's actually all for humanitarian reasons and the nasty Left don't want that.

So apparently the only design input that went into the flag consideration panel was a single 4 hour meeting with a Nike product designer. Good piece in the Herald by a former Nat campaign director

Red Peak was excluded by the panel so that there could be the appearance of a grass roots campaign to include it. The John Key (pbuh) could graciously include it to satisfy the public and then it would be selected. That was the plan all along it is all a big conspiracy.

I like that it has 3 equal triangles but I think the color arrangement in Red Peak is better.

On windless days the top left corner becomes most visible on a limp flag. Black is more unique and identifying to NZ than red.

Also, the red in the middle links the colors together better. Red meets black evokes Maori heritage. Red meets blue evokes the union jack.
