Now that I think about it; how was Arsenal Gear crashing into loving NYC explained away to the public? Like even with the Patriots controlling info (nevermind GW is supposed to be destroyed in MGS2) you'd think nobody would forget the time a gigantic sub with big bi-pedal robots all over it literally crashed into NYC and smashed into city hall
